Shangguan Mo nodded, a gentle smile gracing her face. "Yes! I've changed my mind!" Before she could finish her sentence, she kicked the seemingly sturdy bed.

"Crash..."

The last remaining bed in the palace shattered into pieces, meeting its demise.

Gong Jue Shang stood beside Shangguan Mo, shaking his head regretfully. "Princess, this bed was a gift from my father! It's made from rare medicinal wood, which is beneficial for my health." He sighed and added, "Don't worry, I won't let my father blame you; I'll tell him I broke it myself!"

Shangguan Mo frowned but didn't retort. The almost imperceptible medicinal scent wafting from the bed made her shake her head in sarcasm. She had thought Gong Mingxuan hadn't acted against Gong Jue Shang out of guilt, but now it seemed he was doing such things!

The wood must have been soaked in some medicinal solution, but it wasn't beneficial for Gong Jue Shang's health!

This medicine could be considered a slow-acting poison; while not lethal, prolonged exposure would gradually infiltrate the body, corroding the meridians, making it impossible to cultivate internal energy, and negatively affecting health. No wonder Gong Jue Shang pretended to be ill so convincingly!

Even if he had been pretending before, sleeping on such a bed would genuinely make him sick!

Yet even so, Gong Mingxuan still wasn't reassured and wanted to find justifications to eliminate Gong Jue Shang. It seemed he was genuinely concerned about the "demon fetus" theory!

Gong Jue Shang looked at Shangguan Mo for a long moment before finally speaking, "Princess, what should we do now?"

Shangguan Mo huffed, "You made this mess; you deal with it!"

"Alas..." Gong Jue Shang sighed as he looked at the broken bed. "Had I known the princess was so barbaric, I should have just had someone break the bed instead of everything that could be slept on!"

Now in the palace, not only were the beds gone, but even the soft couches, bamboo beds, and lounge chairs had been destroyed.

Shangguan Mo rubbed her temples in frustration, trying to keep calm. "Gong Jue Shang, what exactly do you want?" Was this man out of his mind? Why was he suddenly so keen on causing her trouble, even resorting to smashing beds?

Now it seemed that no one in the palace would be able to sleep!

Gong Jue Shang smiled warmly, "Princess, since you're so bored, let's just play together!" Implicitly, he was saying he was just looking for amusement, with no other intentions.

Play? Shangguan Mo smiled sweetly, "Since that's the case, then you can play by yourself!" She had no inclination to be his source of entertainment!

The two exchanged glances, both smiling innocently, yet neither spoke.

Yi Qing'er witnessed the tender exchange and felt the tension in the air. Sensing her presence, Shangguan Mo was the first to look away, snorting coldly as she walked past Yi Qing'er.

Gong Jue Shang's lips curved upwards, smiling like a sly fox. After Yi Qing'er let her imagination run wild, she completely misinterpreted the situation. In her eyes, Shangguan Mo's cold snort was a sign of her dissatisfaction with being interrupted, while Gong Jue Shang's happiness was due to Shangguan Mo's concern.

Jealousy gnawed at her heart, causing her complexion to pale. However, Gong Jue Shang didn't notice, as Yi Qing'er's face was already swollen from the slap, and she was wearing a veil. Even without it, Gong Jue Shang likely wouldn't have paid much attention; even if he did, he wouldn't care.

"Senior Brother..." After a while, Yi Qing'er softly asked, "What happened?"

Gong Jue Shang replied gently, "I'm sorry, but the beds in the palace are all broken, so you'll have to make do." His tone was so calm, as if nothing had happened earlier. If one hadn't witnessed him strike the woman in front of him, it would be hard to believe that just moments ago he had been cold and ruthless.

Yi Qing'er wanted to ask what had happened and why someone had suddenly barged in and smashed the beds before disappearing, but in the end, she said nothing and merely replied, "It's alright."

The little maid looked at Yi Qing'er, feeling dissatisfied with Gong Jue Shang, yet afraid to show it. Clearly, she was still shaken from earlier events.

Gu Yihan finally caught up with Jing Mo Han, who had been wandering off somewhere, and seriously informed him about Gong Jue Shang's unusual behavior.

After hearing this, Jing Mo Han burst into laughter, slapping his thigh. "This is the first time in the history of the palace that there are no beds to sleep on! The prince is truly amazing!" Then, suddenly realizing something, he froze and shouted, "No beds? Where am I supposed to sleep?"

Gu Yihan's forehead twitched, gritting his teeth. "Right now, you should be thinking about what's wrong with the prince! Do you still have the heart to think about sleeping?"

Jing Mo Han shrugged his folding fan nonchalantly. "Maybe the prince has taken a liking to someone!"

"What?" Gu Yihan exclaimed.

Jing Mo Han couldn't help but dig at his ears, complaining, "Why are you shouting so loudly?"

Gu Yihan looked like he was about to faint. "Are you sure the prince really likes Shangguan Mo?" What should they do if the prince lost his mind? Wouldn't that beauty scheme succeed? Why did the prince have to fall for a spy of all people?

Jing Mo Han frowned and said, "That's unlikely! It's hard for the prince to take a liking to a woman, especially since he knows she's a spy!"

Hearing this, Gu Yihan let out a sigh of relief but couldn't help but shout, "Then please don't say such things!" Were they trying to scare him to death?

Jing Mo Han scoffed. "I'm just saying whatever; no one is forcing you to believe it!"

Gu Yihan huffed in annoyance. "The prince said we'll set off the day after tomorrow!"

Jing Mo Han's eyes sparkled with mischief. "It should be quite interesting. I want to see what kind of person that Yun Jiaozhu is!"

The next morning, while Shangguan Mo was having breakfast, Yi Qing'er entered uninvited.

Shangguan Mo looked at the veiled girl in front of her and said coolly, "Sit!" Then she continued eating her breakfast, not bothering to ask if Yi Qing'er had eaten, as her expression suggested she had no appetite anyway.
