Aru's Pov:

The next morning, as I sipped my coffee, my phone buzzed on the table. Aryan's dad's name lit up the screen, and a wave of tension washed over me. After the embarrassing party incident, I wasn't sure how he'd react. Hesitantly, I answered the call.

"Hi, Papa. Good morning. How are you?" I asked softly, trying to keep my voice steady.

"Good morning, Aru. I'm doing great. How's Aryan taking care of you?" he inquired. I couldn't help but chuckle internally at the thought of his idea of "perfect husband."

"He's the perfect husband," I replied, almost sarcastically, but I masked it with a sweet tone.

"I called to thank you, Aru," he said, and I paused, confused.

"Thank me? Why, Papa? And I'm really sorry again for that day," I responded, feeling a knot in my stomach.

"No need to apologize. I've never seen Aryan smile since his childhood—not even once, or at least not in front of me. This is the first time in ages I've seen him smile wholeheartedly. And that was because of you."

What?! Aryan never smiled? Was he really that cold?

"Please take care of his heart. He has gone through some tough things at an early age in life. He can be cold at times, but he really has a heart of gold. I just wanted you to know that," he added, and my heart twisted a little at the thought.

"I will, Papa. Thank you for telling me," I said softly.

After he ended the call, I couldn't shake off the conversation. It made me feel bad for Aryan in a way I hadn't before. He was more complex than I'd given him credit for.

I decided I needed to meet Disha and talk things out. We agreed to meet at a cozy cafe that was a favorite among our college crowd.

After deciding to meet Disha at the cafe, I realized I had to inform my new bodyguard, William, about the outing. It was my first time traveling with him, and I was a little nervous about how he would handle things.

As I got into the car, I took a deep breath, trying to shake off my jitters. William was already in the driver's seat, looking stoic as ever. I slid into the passenger seat and turned to him. "Hey, William! So, this is our first outing together. Excited?"

He glanced at me with a slight nod. "Sure Ma'm."

"Okay, I'll take that as a yes! And do not call me Ma'm from now I'm not that old okay!" I laughed, trying to fill the silence. "So, tell me about your wife! How did you two meet? What's her name? How many kids do you have?"

He raised an eyebrow but didn't respond. I pressed on, not one to be deterred easily. "Come on! Give me the juicy details!"

William remained nonchalant, but I could see a hint of a smile creeping onto his face as I bombarded him with questions. Eventually, he relented. "Her name's Tara. We met at a charity event. I was assigned to provide security, and she was volunteering."

"Ooh, that sounds cute! Was it love at first sight?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.

He chuckled softly. "More like a mutual dislike at first. She thought I was too serious, and I thought she was too carefree. But eventually, we found common ground."

"That's so sweet! You should bring her home one day. I'd love to see her with your baby!" I squealed with joy, picturing a cute little family.

William glanced at me, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "You know, Mr. Aryan warned me to have some earbuds just in case I needed them."

My jaw dropped, and I shot him a disbelieving look. "He did not! How dare he?"

William smirked, clearly enjoying my reaction. "He said you talk a lot."
