SIREN [CNA x Roses and Champagne]

CHAPTER 5

Leewon's shivering had grown worse as the icy water numbed his body, and he tried to focus on anything other than his impending doom. Thoughts of home, of Taekjoo, and even of his Netflix binge floated through his mind. He wondered if anyone would ever find their bodies, or if they'd become just another unsolved mystery of the river.

Leewon couldn't help but wonder, "What does this siren want with me? Why me, of all people?" He knew he wasn't particularly special. Sure, he had his quirks, like his obsession with siren-human romances,demon and vampire one too but that hardly made him stand out and none of his family nor friends knew about it . And yet, here he was, being carried away by one of the creatures he'd only ever read about. The irony was not lost on him.

But now was not the time for self-reflection. The siren seemed to be taking him further and further away from the cave, and Leewon couldn't shake the feeling that whatever was awaiting him was not going to be pleasant.

But now they were going lower and lower now the water was already to his neck level making him grip the siren, now they were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by water, no island on sight.
As they swam going deeper into the water Leewon held his breath as they're now fully submerged under water, Leewon began to notice His limbs felt heavier as he continue to hold his breath.

They were under water for a long while now holding his breath was becoming painful as he starts to hit the siren's chest because he couldn't breathe. He needed oxygen fast but they were deep underwater.
Leewon's lungs were hurting as he still tries not to inhale unless he might eventually drown.
He didn't know how deep they were it was so dark.

Feeling the human struggling to break free, the blonde siren picked up the pace as he swims faster down.

"The siren, still carrying Leewon in its arms, emerged from the water and slithered onto the riverbank. Leewon's head broke the surface of the air and he gasped for breath, his heart pounding in his chests and his lungs burning ."

Lets clear the confusion: The siren carried Leewon while swimming underwater, and then they emerged from the water onto a riverbank. It's like the cave was hidden beneath the surface of the river, and the riverbank was a sort of "front door" to the cave. So think of it as a watery entrance to a secret world, rather than a riverbank underground.
So they were underground .

The cave was hidden beneath the surface of the river, with the riverbank inside the cave serving as the entrance . Leewon and the siren swam through the water and surfaced inside the cave.

As Leewon regained his bearings, he looked around and realized that they were standing in front of a large cave entrance. The siren seemed to hesitate for a moment before carrying Leewon inside.

The cave was dimly lit, but Leewon could see that it was filled with a variety of colorful sea gems and otherworldly plants. Leewon was amazed, but his amazement quickly turned to fear as he spotted the lifeless bodies of other humans scattered throughout the cave.

"What is this place?" Leewon whispered, his eyes darting around the cave suddenly in search of an escape route.
He might be next to join the bodies on the ground, he shivered from the cold and fear

Leewon was becoming more and more afraid as he looked at the lifeless bodies around him. The siren had yet to make any aggressive moves towards him, but he knew that didn't mean he was safe.
He locked eyes with the creature who had been staring at him, as his golden iris had a faint glow in them, staring intensely at Leewon which made the human uncomfortable.

'Is he thinking I'm an appetizing dinner or something?'

Suddenly, a voice echoed through the cave, making him break eye contact with the monster. A voice that sounded like it belonged to a human. "Help me! Please, someone, help me!" The voice was weak, but it was filled with desperation.

The siren seemed to tense up at the sound of the voice, as if it knew what was about to happen. It started to move towards the sound, dragging Leewon along with it.

As they got closer, Leewon could make out a human figure tied up against the wall of the cave, their body covered in bruises and cuts.

As they approached the human, Leewon could see that it was a woman, her hair matted and her face gaunt with hunger,she looked so weak. She looked at Leewon and the siren with pleading eyes, begging them to set her free.

The siren paused for a moment, he scowled at the woman, his sneer making her shiver in fear. "Silence or die ," his voice dripping with disdain.
The woman shut her mouth not saying anything as a tear roll made it's way down her eye.

Seeing her cry silently he rolled his eyes before turning its attention back to Leewon.

The siren carried Leewon deeper into the cave, past the bodies of the unfortunate souls who had not been chosen. As they moved further away from the entrance, Leewon looked around, searching for any opportunity to make a break for it. But the darkness of the cave made it impossible to tell which way was out, and the water that surrounded them was too deep for him to swim in his weakened state.

Sensing his desperation, the siren tightened its grip around Leewon, and he knew that he would have to bide his time if he wanted to survive. As they came to a stop in a part of the cave devoid of other humans, the siren set Leewon down on a smooth rock, watching him closely with its unblinking eyes.

Leewon sat, his mind racing with possibilities, but he knew that now was not the time to act rashly when he's being watched.

"What...you want?" Leewon managed to stammer out, his voice shaking with fear. The siren hissed, "You, adelfí psychí, are chosen. You, adelfí psychí, will stay." With a flick of its powerful tail, it swam away, disappearing into the shadows of the cave.

Alone in the darkness, Leewon wondered what fate awaited him.
