To their surprise, Red and Layla had returned with the smiles they shared in sloppy kisses instantly downturned. Despite having dipped and bathed in one another's souls at the hotel, they woke up to multiple missed calls, further updates, and retellings of just how Freddy had got it in mind to come after them.

It's not that the pair cowered at Freddy's orders, it's more that Layla found herself fearful, the anxiety chewing itself through her, too far in for her to shake her head and allow Red's touch to smooth out its bite marks. No, Freddy's existence rippled every sort of fear Layla had ever encountered in her entire life, from when her teenage body was nearly broken because a man wanted to take over it whilst she was under the influence, to all the times she had her entire self destroyed by the memory of Red leaving.

Therefore, this panic that strikes Layla, over and over again, harmful and mad, untamed and repetitive, sinks deep into Red, growing further fury within her at the idea someone could hurt her Layla so much. The idea is that Layla will not be able to breathe and feel the loose sheets around them until this man is contained, and controlled.

Red's eyes remained fixated on the road the entire drive with that thought, just how can she be respectful of Layla's wishes of peace upon Freddy when he is somehow still hurting her by existing in any way? How can Red keep herself together when someone's inflicting such impure hatred upon such a miracle of a person?

Layla sets into her apartment after the drive, not an inch of exhaustion in her, just complete paranoia, her eyes darting around each corner of this damned apartment. This joke of a new start, this place that has left her even more haunted and bruised than she started, all because of a man. All because she let someone in. Her heart skips a couple of beats every time a click echoes and Red's fingers rub at her face to calm her down.

Until Layla's left to sit in it alone, "I've got to go to work, see them all and see what the next steps are for this whole situation." Are Red's last words before a kiss is left planted onto Layla's lips, Layla nods, knowing that once Red leaves, she will not move a muscle from this couch, fearing that if she does, she'll bump into the ghosts of her past.

After long anticipation, Red steps into the Café via the front door just so she can hear the ring of the bell, having missed it despite being stuck between the imaginary world of peace Red and Layla created with each other to her real life, the real-life she built for herself and has grown to deeply love. With a found family, a found family that misses her like blood, miss her as though their souls are intertwined eternally, their breaths in sync, their lungs heavy past their stifled bodies, their eyes wicked and hearts pure, all perfect fits of misfits.

Red's eyes glow brighter, her worries instantly dropping at the remembrance that she isn't in solitude anymore, battles in her life aren't fought alone, these three musketeers will guide her with it and through it, yes, they'll disagree, argue, debate, but they'll always come to an understanding and now that Red has Layla once again, Layla will have them as well being an extension to Red's additions.

Red's smile lines appear in an instant when she watches Ashton twist a towel and start aiming it at Elio's back, snapping it at him repeatedly and Elio whinges in annoyance, containing his very visible anger that has most likely poisoned each inch of the black coffee he makes for himself - because only Elio will have a black coffee at this Café.

Lilith appears, yanking Ashton away and he blushes in embarrassment, his cheeks flushing brightly when he hands Lilith the towel in defeat he catches Red's brown eyes, relief of every sense washing over her hazel ones, the clear chains around her body coming loose and undone within seconds.
