Who did you touch? - Montell Fish

After Red finished cleaning the Café she returned to loud silence, not a trace of Lilith and only the shower running. Red had messaged Lilith repeatedly asking her if Layla was okay the first hour until the messages turned into concern for Lilith and how she hadn't shown up to the Café.

Ridiculously, Red assumes the shower is being occupied by Lilith and so she hurriedly and harshly knocks, "Lilith, are you alright?" Red's voice unintentionally comes out in a loud shout but despite this - even after Red waits for a response - she hears absolutely nothing. In fact, maybe the pressure of the shower is even more intense and the screeching silence starts the thoughts in Red's mind, wondering if someone left the shower on accidentally is one of the main thoughts.

Despite these assumptions, she still ensures that she leaves a warning, "I'm coming in–" Red's raspy tone shakes the door, her mouth closed when her veiny hand hastily comes up to the doorknob, hesitatingly pushing down and all it takes is the slight creak to alert the blonde inside, who is crawled into a ball in the corner, her head in her lap, vulnerably naked.

Until her head shoots up, her green eyes darting up and her heart rate picks up even though she is boxed into a cloud of fog, unable to see whoever it is and vice versa.

"I'm naked!" Layla blurts an exclaim, bringing her own limbs closer as her face burns a brighter red of nothing but embarrassment at the idea of it being Red.

"Oh-" Red's eyebrows shoot up at the sound of Layla's fearful voice of being exposed, swiftly squeezing her eyes shut and managing to shut the door even quicker, slamming it so hard that Layla flinches at the sound.

Layla picked at her knee now as the silence consumed them, it's not like Red saw anything, and Layla was merely in a daze otherwise she would've responded but maybe the silence occurred because of the possibility of it all, Red walking in on Layla fully naked.

"Sorry, I didn't know it was you." Red snaps Layla out of her trance, her lips right near the shut door, hotly meeting it Layla feels as though the door never shut, and Red's words meet her ear directly, talking to her, explaining to her, releasing her words for her, her insides twist, her grip on her limbs loosen.

Layla feels her tongue begging to speak, her throat awaiting the release but she never speaks, a part of her doesn't because she wouldn't have known what to say, would she apologise too? She could've responded but she chose not to. She could've done so much more to stop it but she didn't. She should've done more.

Layla knows this hesitation to her own speech is rooted in so much more than just Red walking into her nakedness.

Eventually, Layla manages herself up, using random shampoos and conditioners that don't belong to her as she mentally prepares herself for whatever is outside.

So after all of her mental anguish, she walks back into Red's bedroom, without an inch of confidence carrying her, to find Red in dark shorts, the elastic lining of her boxers showing and a black tight tank top, her tattoos scattered across all of her layers of skin, so perfectly, so attractively as though she hadn't been picking up scattered messes from the remains of a New Year's eve party.

Her thick eyebrows pushed together in attentiveness, her dark eyes scanning a page in the book clutched in her one hand, making it seem so weak in her harsh grip, but Layla knows that looks deceive. The touch of Red isn't ever so aggressive - maybe to others - but never to Layla and the blurted-out confession from Layla proved that when her hands melted into Layla's skin and warmed her every bone to its core.
