14th of November.
Red is sitting on the gym floor, her hair in a bun above her head, a couple of loose curls hanging out as she holds herself up with her elbows leaning back.
She's wearing a tight-sleeved gym top and gym shorts to go with it, both black of course.
Her eyes are glued to Ashton who's currently on his third set for his back, his eyes strongly fixated on himself in the mirror as sweat caresses his face, Red watches his intense expression.
"Do you reckon she'll show up with Freddy?" Despite his physical exhaustion, Ashton manages to blurt out but wants Red to turn her intense stare away from him.
Red scoffs, "I doubt it. He probably doesn't even know, seeing as it's already been two weeks since she asked for this, she's clearly having to hide it from the bastard." Red's eyebrows narrow as her jaw clenches in annoyance, Ashton giving up on his set at her expression.
"Chill out, she's fine." Ashton breathlessly reassures, wiping the sweat from his forehead on the back of his arm.
Red's eyes flick to him, "Don't tell me to chill Ashton." She snaps, her expression distant in thought, "Am I just supposed to act like it's normal for Layla to want to learn how to defend herself suddenly?" Red readjusts herself so she's sitting up, one of her legs bent and her arm hanging down from her knee, "It's strange." Red finishes, worriedly turning away, her eyes inspecting the gym for a sight of her.
Ashton gets up and off the machine, wiping it down swiftly before crouching beside Red, his hand on her shoulder, "Whatever it is, you'll have it under control. Whatever it is, she'll trust you to tell you." Ashton lowly whispers, an encouraging smile tugging at his lips when Red begins to nod until her eyes soften.
Ashton looks over his own shoulder to find Layla, as nervous as a child who's just started their first day of school, clutching onto her gym back and biting the inside of her cheek.
Red is instantly to her feet, leaving Ashton crouched to the floor who eventually gets up and follows after her, the pair of them leaving their stuff behind.
Layla's nerves increase when she sees a different version of Red, so defined and perfectly built as she towers over her, "There you are." Red excitedly says, her smile lines vividly appearing at the sight of the green-eyed girl.
Green meets brown hesitantly, as brown gazes a little longer, making the green's fluster.
"Hi." Layla softly responds, her eyes flicking from Red nervously to Ashton.
"Layla!" Ashton cheers, coming up from behind Red with his arms crossed, and a smile plastered.
"Hi," Layla repeats and Red chuckles, noticing how she's nervous about the whole idea of even being in the gym.
Ashton awkwardly nods, not knowing what to muster out of himself before Red pats his back, "You've got a shift now, no?" Red reminds the clueless boy, whose eyes spring awake at the realisation, "I'll order you a taxi." Red tells him before he quickly walks over to the bench they were just at, grabbing his phone and water.
Red guides Layla, allowing her to follow behind her so she doesn't feel too pressured but also not too lost and Red knows all of it.
