Jasmine continues to chop up the Witch without care for her own injuries. Hazel and Winn continue to watch in horror. The witch has finally ceased all movement. She is so seriously injured that it's a mystery whether or not she is alive at all. However, her healing magic immediately begins to help her recover.
"Shutting out the pain is really easy once you know how to do it..." Jasmine told the two. "This way, I'll never lose another fight." The witch's corpse finally vanishes as the labyrinth dissipates. The surroundings return to a street filled with warehouses. A grief seed remains of the battle. Jasmine picks it up and tosses it to Winn. "You can have it. That's what you're here for, right?"
"Watch it." Winn warned her.
"I don't want to owe you anything. This makes us even, okay?" Jasmine let Winn know. "Let's go home, Hazel."
She then untransformed. Her steps are sluggish from exhaustion. Hazel rushes up to support her. "Sorry, I'm just a little tired." Jasmine lied.
"Take it easy. I've got you." Hazel comforted her friend. Jasmine leans on her shoulder for support as they leave.
Behind them, Winn clenched tightly the grief seed that Jasmine tossed to them. "That idiot..." They muttered.

The two girls begin to walk in the rain. Hazel knew that bus services had stopped for the night, but told her friend that they could hide from the rain underneath the bus stop. The two huddle on a bench, getting rest inside the shelter. Hazel noticed that her friend looked exhausted. She couldn't bear to see Jasmine like that.
"Jasmine... I don't think it's healthy to fight like that..." Hazel warned her friend. Annoyed by her friend's words, Jasmine looks down, with her face rigid. Hazel hated seeing Jasmine fight that witch. "You say it doesn't hurt, but it hurt me as I watched you fight. Please stop hurting yourself. I know you say you can't feel the pain anymore, but you might really hurt yourself one day..."
"I couldn't have won otherwise. I don't have any talent." Jasmine muttered.
"Even if you do fight like that, it won't help you in the end." Hazel told her friend.
Those last words hit Jasmine's nerves. "And what would help me?" She shouted at Hazel. "Now that I've been turned into this thing, how can anyone help me?" Hazel pulled back in fear after noticing how angry her friend was. "I am just a thing that is good for nothing except killing witches. I just pretend to be alive by dragging my corpse along on strings. What could anyone do to help me? There is no point even thinking about this anymore!"
"But, I just want you to be happy Jasmine!" Hazel told her friend.
"Then why don't you fight the witches instead?" Jasmine suggested in a harsh tone. Jasmine says words without thinking in the heat of the moment. Her direct words left Hazel stunned. "Irep told me that you have more potential than anyone else! you can beat witches without struggling like I do!" Jasmine looked away from her friend. "If you want to do something for me, why don't you try and do what I have been doing. But you can't! You can't just give up your humanity out of pity!"
"Dev says I-"
"Who cares what Dev says! You can be all powerful but you chose not to! You choose to watch in the sidelines and see me suffer! Please don't act like you know how I feel!" Jasmine interrupted her. After saying those harsh words, she got up from the bench. "Don't follow me..." Jasmine runs off into the rain. Hazel tries to run after her, but stops.
Jasmine continues to cry as she runs through the rain. She is overwhelmed by regret and self-loathing. "I'm so horrible! How could I say that to her? I'm such a bad friend!" Jasmine sobbed. The soul gem in her hand started to turn a darker color.

Meanwhile, Winn walked to a giant skyscraper. They buzzed the button, and Dev opened the door. "I thought you were lying when you said you lived here..." Winn told Dev.
"Just come in..." Dev told them. He led Winn to his room, and sat on the bed. He then showed Winn a map of the city. The map is filled with pins and permanent markers.
"Walpurgisnacht should appear within this area." Dev told Winn.
"And how do you know that?" Winn asked him.
"Statistics." Dev answered.
"Seriously? Statistics?" Winn commented. "I have never heard of Walpurgisnacht coming to this city before. So, where are these statistics even coming from?" Dev remained silent. "I don't think you have to be that secretive about this."
"I would like to know as well, Dev." Irep told him. He had injected himself into the conversation, appearing out of nowhere. Dev looked coldly at Irep while Winn reshaped their soul gem into a spear and thrusted it at Irep.
"How dare you show your face here after what happened?!" Winn shouted at Irep.
"My, my. I get the feeling that I am not welcome. And here I came all this way just to give you some important information." Irep told them. "Jasmine is depleting herself faster than I expected. It is not just all the magic she is using, but she is starting to carry a curse within herself."
"And who do you think is at fault here?!" Winn blamed the creature.
"At this rate, it might become an issue before Walpurgisnacht arrives. You better be on your guard." Irep warned the two.
"What does that mean? What are you even talking about?!" Winn asked Irep in a confused manner.
"Perhaps you should ask Jasmine instead of me." Irep told Winn. The creature flashes a wicked smile as he stares at Dev. "Dev, you already know the answer, don't you?" Dev stares back with anger in his face. "I thought so. I would be most interested to hear where you obtained that information. Could you be-"
"Get out!" Dev interrupted Irep in a murderous rage. Irep shrugs and jumps out the window, dodging Winn's spear tip in the process.
"Are you just going to let him go?" Winn asked Dev.
"There is no use of killing that thing." Dev told them.
"Anyway, what is the issue he mentioned with Jasmine?" Winn asked Dev in a concerned tone.
"Her soul gem has become too tainted. If it isn't purified soon, the damage will become irreparable." Dev informed Winn.
