THE DAY AFTER y/n spent it at home, in her room, sulking. not only was she fighting a hangover, she was also fighting her conflicting feelings for a certain boy.
the thought of actually taking someone of the male species was foreign. new. she'd never done it before, and she couldn't believe that she was letting her temporary sugar daddy affect her like this.
"y/n, honey, why don't you hangout with rintaro today? you've been in bed all day. have you even showered after last night? you probably smell" her mom asked, knocking on their door.
"because suna and i aren't a thing anymore" i sighed, getting out of bed and opening the door. "what's that supposed to mean?" her father asked, crossing his arms.
"he's dating someone else or something, i don't know! all i know is that i liked him but he didn't like me. sorry it didn't work out," y/n said, closing the door on her parents.
she'd admit that it was a little rude, but that's how she was feeling in the moment.
on the other hand, y/n's parents were appalled. how could their match not have worked out? the couple walked downstairs into their living room and sat on the couch. "we need to call them" her father said sternly.
"are you sure? i mean what if this was their doing?" she asked, putting a hand on her forehead.
"it can't be. if the girl was anything important she would've been all over the media by now. the fact that she isn't only tells me that she's a normal person who wants a rich boyfriend"
"okay," her mother sighed.
she pulled out her phone and dialled the suna's home phone.
"suna residence, this is mika speaking" the lady said. "hi mika. are mr and mrs suna nearby right now?" y/n's mother asked, putting the phone on speaker. "may i ask who is calling?"
"mika, honey, tell them it's the l/n's. and that it's a code red." she sighed.
"okay" she said.
"i came as soon as i heard code red? what happened?" mrs suna asked. "our match didn't work out" mrs l/n sighed. "what? that's impossible!" mr suna exclaimed. "your son is seeing someone new. you promise that this would work out!" mr l/n fired back.
"my sincerest apologies. i'll get this sorted right away" mr suna sighed.
the phone hung up and the two parents sighed. her mom leaned her head on her dads shoulder, and he put his head on top of hers. "is she ever gonna get married?" her dad asked.
"she's only twenty, she has time" her mother said, defending her childish antics and wild life. "i know but we aren't getting any younger. the sooner she finishes school and gets married, the sooner we retire. i would love for us to travel the world" he replied.
"and we will, honey. you just have to give her time. she's already trying her best, and if their relationship didn't work out now, it might work out later"
——
"suna rintaro, we don't ask much from you. but the one time we ask you to do something for our sake you mess it up" his father said, clearly pissed. rintaro pinched his nose bridge and considered hanging up the phone.
"and what's this i hear about you seeing someone else too? clearly she isn't anyone relevant" his mom asked. "mom" he sighed. "i'm not seeing her. she's just some casual fling" rintaro replied.
"you aren't supposed to see other people rintaro. you know that. who is this girl anyways?" his mom asked. rintaro glanced at the bathroom, where reiki was showering.
"is her family at least reputable?" his father asked. "no" rintaro muttered. "oh come on! this doesn't help our case at all. the l/n's are the most wanted connection right now. if we mess it up our name is tarnished!" his father exclaimed.
"rinnnn come back to bed, im done showering" reiki said, coming out of the shower with nothing more than a towel wrapped around her body.
"oh and now she's in your apartment? honestly rintaro, have some decency! don't even think about bringing her home, ever." his mother gasped.
rintaro covered the mic and told reiki to wait in the bedroom.
"look, whether i make it up to y/n or not, she hates me. she doesn't want anything to do with me and she's made that clear. you guys can scream at me all you want but nothing is gonna change" he replied.
"you're ridiculous" his father said, before hanging up.
suna trudged to the bedroom and opened the door, seeing reiki now in her clothes, sprawled out across the bed. "was that your parents?" she asked. "yeah, i fucked something up and they were just yelling at me for it" he said, throwing his phone on the bed.
"it's about y/n, isn't it?" she asked.
"okay, yeah, it is," he sighed. "what's the fuss about her anyway? she's just another nepotism baby with too much money to spend" reiki rolled her eyes. "woah, that's a bit of a stretch" he replied.
"is it though? without her daddies money, what does she have going for her?" she raised her eyebrow. almost accusing rintaro of caring about her. "i think she would have a lot going for her with or without her dads connections. she just gets more of a push with them" suna replied.
"whatever" reiki groaned, rolling her eyes.
of course. why didn't suna think of it sooner? she's jealous. jealous because reiki was forced to sign a non disclosure agreement, whereas if it was y/n she could love him as loudly as she wanted.
his parents would never accept her, but they'd accept y/n.
the public would never approve of her.
"are you jealous?" suna asked. reikis eyes winded and she frantically waved her hands. "i'm not! why would i be jealous of her" she huffed, crossing her arms. "because you guys are exact opposites" he replied.
"she's just another bimbo. nothing to be jealous of"
