Finally, the day was out and the last thing to do was go watch Lynn's practice and then go watch a movie with Lynn Loud jr. You were excited but also nervous. You weren't sure why you just were. Maybe because it was your longtime crush, or maybe you just got worried something would go wrong. Could be both, but you just smiled and made your way to your locker only to see Lynn standing there waiting for you. "Thought I'd walk you since we're going to the same place." She spoke raspily. You nodded and grinned whilst unlocking your locker and grabbing your things. You walked the halls to the doors next to Lynn just like you had the past two days. Once again people eyed you guys and giggled but you didn't care. You made your way out the double foors and to the practice field where Lynn led you to a bench. She sat you down and smiled at you, "Just sit pretty for me and watch me annihilate these losers." Pretty? Pretty? Maybe she wasn't thinking right because... pretty? That was very new. Not that you didn't like it, it made your knees go weak and made you blush, but that didn't mean it wasn't questioned.
You watched as she backed up, shot you a wink and then turned around. Then she proceeded to grab a basketball and chose her team whilst one of the other basketball players chose their team. Lynn gave a little speech about kicking the other teams but and all you heard from them was 'it's just practice'. Although that statement was true, it was still competative to Lynn and she still strived to win. The coach blew the whistle and within minutes Lynn was blocking others from getting the ball.
She was very meticulous. Lynn would score a point and immediately shoot her shot at getting the ball back from whoever caught it. Even though you may not have saw it, Lynn was trying to impress you. She wanted you to compliment her and tell her she did a good job. She loved that. Mainly because with ten siblings, her parents didn't alwasys have the time to congratulate her and tell her how good she did. So she was seeking it out with you.
You might have found that weird but she didn't. But Lynn also won't tell you that she's seeking that out with you, she just hoped you'd know. Eventually, another whistle was sounded and her team was awarded with winning that round. Two more to go.
...
It'd been about an hour and a half and Lynn's team had won all three practice matches. When you congratulated her and said she did good, she looked away. You'd given her what she wanted without realizing it, and it made her feel warm. Just as you went to ask her if she'd been flirting, you heard a honk. It was her dad who was picking you up. You closed your mouth and collected your things while waiting for her to grab hers.
You both crawled into the back of the vanzilla. "Who's ready to PARTEYYY and watch some movies?" Lynn Sr asked. That made you look slightly confused. He was joining the movie?
"Dad it's just gonna be me and Ale." Lynn said. Ale? You questioned yourself, the only other person who'd call you that was your parents. You had honestly smiled at yourself hearing it.
"Oh okay. Well either way don't be too loud." Lynn sr didn't sound upset or anything so you assumed it would be fine. It wasn't that you'd disliked him but more of wanting to be alone with Lynn, preferably to tell her you liked her. You saw the vanzilla pull into the driveway and began to grab your bag and follow Lynn out of the vehicle. You'd just started thinking about how close you and Lynn had gotten with eachother in the past two days.
Lynn led you into the living room. "Make yourself comfortable, I'll get some popcorn started" She spoke. You nodded and set your stuff down before sitting on the couch. This time you really took in the decorations and look of the room. It was really cozy and relaxing, you saw your jacket sitting on the back of the couch and grabbed it, stuffing it into your bag. You looked at everything laying about, Lynn's baseball bat, Luna's guitar, Lynn's baseball glove, and some of Lilly's toys. It was comforting, in a way your home was almost.
Lynn came back into the living room and set the big bowl of popcorn down, she turned on the tv and looked at you, "What do you wanna watch?" you truly thought for a moment."The lion king?" You asked. You smiled and pumped your fist when she nodded and turned it on. Every once in a while you'd peek at her and then back at the tv. And unbeknownst to you, she did the same, mainly when you'd laugh or say 'Oh no' jokingly. Lynn felt herself falling harder and harder every time. Your tan skin, dark brown eyes and shiny black hair. It reeled her in.
Lynn wasn't sure what made her decide to get your number and invite you to hangout in a mere portion of those few days, but seeing you interact with her siblings and laugh with your parents during dinner, it made her feel like she needed to. So whilst she watched you laugh at the tv, she smiled at you like you were her world. So she felt her heart ache as she looked away and remembered your separate people. You were popular and probably liked boys, whilst she was some random jock who only had her gay awakening upon meeting you.
You noticed her silence and looked at her, "Something wrong" With that gentleness she was slightly honest.
"I just... people probably think it's weird we've been hanging out. We're separate people. Nothing between us is the same." You sighed upon hearing that. If only you had the confidence to tell her you loved her, you wanted her, and what others thought didn't matter. So you told her what you lips would let you.
"Lynn, I don't care what people think, you're really nice and personally, I don't care what other people think. You're your own person and that's what matters. Besides I like your personality and that's all that matters." You felt nervous saying it, but you had and there was no going back, atleast you hadn't blatantly told her how you felt, just sort of hinted at it.
Lynn of course blushed and thanked you for what you said. That to her was poetic and made her heart race. No one had ever said words to her like that. Never made her feel like she truly was one of a kind or mattered that much. It made her feel... happy. Really happy. Eventually the movie came to an end and all you saw was a sleeping Lynn on the other end of the couch.
You got up to leave quietly until you heard an extra raspy voice, "Where are you going?" Lynn said sleepily.
"Home.."
"Let me walk you."
"Lynn it's late at night."
"I'm not taking a no." And within seconds she was up, hoodie on and slides. She grabbed your bag and slide your jacket over your arms. Lynn didn't give you a monet to decline and held your hand walking you out the door. Indeed your house was nearby, but she wanted to saver the moment before you went home and to bed. She walked you slowly on the sidewalk and up to your front door.Lynn watched as you opened it and slowly laid the bags inside the door before standing next to you. "Goodnight, stay warm. Hang out again tomorrow?" Tomorrow? That was sooner than you expected but you still said yes almost immediately. "Great. See you tomorrow dork."
Those words made you smile, but it slowly dropped as she readied to walk away. "Wait." You called gently grabbing her wrist. Lynn stopped to look at you. As her eyes looked into yours, you leaned up on your tippy toes and kissed her cheek. "Goodnight." You began to turn away as she lightly touched her cheek and then turned around and walked away smiling. She couldn't let you see her smile, that's why.
If she'd stayed a moment longer she probably would have kissed you. So instead she stuck to what she did. But now Lynn knew the relationship she wanted with you. She wanted to be your girlfriend.
