Lynn Loud, one of your FAVORITE classmates. She was one of the jocks in the school. She did all sorts of sports, football, soccer, basketball. As of the moment she was on the basketball team. She was also your longtime crush.
In all sense, it was quite easy to spot. You were surprised she herself didn't know. Your friends and hers certainly did. They always sent you looks in the hallways and giggled when you would ask about her. But despite that, Lynn was very oblivious. She had no idea, and in your honest thoughts, you didn't want her to.
Everyone thought you, Alessandra, were a popular girl because you talked to important people, dressed nice, and had the best grades. You in all honesty weren't. Good grades? Sure, nice clothes? Also true. But you didn't connect with those important people. You only talked to them because you hoped they were close with Lynn. The way your smile dropped when they told you they didn't like her was well... quick.
Your biggest expectation they gave you was that you NEVER go out with Lyle. He was some random new transfer student and one of the top girls in your group wanted him. Good thing you weren't interested in boys.
You had just gotten done dressing up for the day. Simple outfit really, or at least what your friends considered simple. It was actually a denim, short pencil skirt and a pink flowered button up blouse with your ruffled socks and tennis shoes, one of the only non-girly things you got away with. Looking in the mirror you sighed and prayed Lynn would notice you. The only time she ever noticed you was the day you wore a shirt with '1' on it, you'd made the shirt to cheer her on at a game but she wasn't fully aware of that. You planned to keep it that way.
As you walked the hallway and down the stairs to the kitchen, you followed the railing with your hand. Reaching the kitchen you grabbed a bagel and sat down. "What's with the short skirt?" your mother, Mary-Jane asked. "Come on, stand up, arms at your side".
"Mommmm, please it's just barely past." You whined.
"But what if you get dress-coded?" Your mom asked whilst flipping a pancake.
"I won't, my friends always wear these short skirts." She crossed her hands over each other "Please mom?" She begged.
"Fine, if you get dress-coded then that's on you." Your mother replied. Standing up fully, you jumped happily."Thank you, thank you, thank you!" You cheered.
Your mom smiled and handed your brother a pancake. "Better get going or you'll be late.", you smiled and hugged your mom, pecking her cheek.
"Okay bye! Have a good day, see you after school!" With that you grabbed your bag and walked out the front door while grabbing your bike. The first thing you saw was her. Lynn Loud, your crush. Her father waved you over with a smile."Good morning Mr. Loud!" you waved while walking over. You could see Lynn looking at you.
"How are you this fine morning, do you need a ride?" Lynn Loud Sr asked.
"No no, I have my bike."
"Please, that rusty old thing?"
"My moms working to get me a new one, but this'll do"Lynn Loud sr looked at you in a gasp "I do insist really." you smiled and decided, why not?
"Well since you insist" you shrugged. You climbed into the van while Lynn held the door and sat down next to Luan and Lucy. You stared out the window for a good moment before Mr. Loud began asking you stuff."So how has school been going?" he asked.
"Quite well actually, I'm on the honor roll and I think I'm going to try out for cheerleading next week.", you felt eyes on you while you spoke, but you just focused on Mr. Loud.
"Good good, How are you parents?" he proceeded with his questions."They are doing well, my dad just got promoted and my mom is pretty busy up at the hospital." smiling and looking out the window you thought about what Lynn Loud sr might ask next.
"That's great, hey do you mind asking your parents if they want to have dinner at ours tonight? Rita has been wanting to bake with Mary for a while." he asked."Yeah of course! Mom has said she's got nothing to do recently."
"Great"...
You saw the high school come into view and grabbed your backpack off the floor. Looking over at the door you waited patiently for Mr. Loud to park. As you looked, you saw Lynn looking at you, this led you to smile. "You're planning to try out for the cheer team?" her raspy voice spoke. With a nod and side smile she looked away.
It's not that Lynn didn't like you, she truly enjoyed the feeling of your presence. But she didn't quite know you. She would agree that the moment she saw you she wanted to be someone to you, but she's not sure what that relationship would be. All Lynn knew is she was attracted to you... very attracted to you. Like so attracted that she goes outside to her yard whenever she sees you in yours through the window. Lynn doesn't do that for anyone, not even when her older sisters beg her to go out there with them and help with messy jobs they don't want to do.
Lynn wants to be something, and she plans on it to happen soon, she wants it to happen soon.
