the possibility of something happening, good or bad

( G!P KATE BISHOP X FEMALE READER )

Kate's POV:

For my mission today, given by Clint, I was to scope out a few of the bustling streets of New York. There was an anonymous tip of a masked woman traveling through the streets later on tonight with the precious jewels in a bag that she had stolen from a local jewelry store.

"I still don't see her." I sighed, bored, talking into my comms. "This is so boring. She's not even here."

"This could take hours, Kate. Have some patience." Clint said in my ear.

"It's hard to have patience when I should be home in bed with Lucky, eating pizza, and binging White Chicks." I whined a little, leaning against the railing of the rooftop I stood at.

"Okay, drama queen. Still stay on high alert, copy?"

"Yeah, yeah. Over." I shut my comms up, sighing again with a small scoff. "Why do I have to be up here? Why couldn't, like, Kamala or America do this?" I rolled my eyes and looked down, spotting the most beautiful woman ever. "Oh, hot mommy alert."

I grabbed the grappling hook that Clint gave me and launched it to the other side of the street, letting it hook onto the building. I tested it and made sure it was sturdy before attaching myself safely and gliding across. When I landed, I climbed down the ladder and hopped to the street, placing my collapsible bow in my shoe.

I watched the Y/H/C girl walk by, her extravagant smile was shown every time she was greeted by pop-up sellers. I made my way across the street, trying not to creepily follow her as she made a suspicious turn down the alley. I kept my head down but my eyes alert as I hid in the shadows.

I watched her reach from her pocket and pull out the jewels we were looking for. Fuck. I wanted pussy tonight and now I can't have it.

"Hey, so, I think you have something I'm looking for." She turned around in surprise as I kicked the jewels out of her hand, watching them get thrown in the air as I leg swept her, catching them in my hand. "Not very nice of you to steal these."

"If you give them back, I'll make it worth your while." She tried negotiating, making me sigh.

"Sorry, sweetheart. No can do." I shook my head with a tsk. "These, are coming home with me."

"We'll see about that." The girl was quick to stand up, snatching the jewels from my hand and throwing a blow to my gut, knocking me off my feet as well. She ran towards the end of the alley, jumping up to reach the ladder.

"Ouch. That hurt." I grunted and held my stomach for a moment before quickly getting back up on my feet and chasing after her. "Hard way it is then!" I yelled as I climbed to the top, slightly out of breath as I watched her front flip to next building over. "Oh god."

The mystery girl's moves were sharp and agile, her quick-like reflexes kept me on my toes. I never knew what corner she'd turn down to. Eventually, we ended up being ran down the block with no exit other than going back.

I chuckled slightly, panting. "Well, guess there's nowhere to go, huh?" I teased slightly, resting my hands on my hips.

"I'm not sure about that." She approached me and grabbed my hand, holding it out as she dropped the jewels in it. "This was fun. Let's do it again sometime."
