That night, Seungkwan lay sprawled across the hotel bed, scrolling through his phone to pass the time. His head hung off the edge, nearly touching the floor, while the rest of his body stayed on the king-size bed. After spending all afternoon with his—Mingyu's childhood friends, chatting and drinking, Mingyu had finally dragged him back to their hotel room.
Seungkwan's face was still flushed from the alcohol, though he had only had half a glass of red wine—thanks to Mingyu's constant, disapproving glares.
"Are you going out now?" Seungkwan asked, glancing over at Mingyu, who had just stepped out of the bathroom freshly showered, adjusting his luxury watch.
Mingyu grunted in response, his eyes narrowing when he noticed Seungkwan lying haphazardly on the bed. Seungkwan's oversized white t-shirt had ridden up slightly, exposing a sliver of his belly. Mingyu's gaze lingered there for a moment, imagining how soft the skin would feel under his touch. The thought struck him unexpectedly, making him wonder if it really was as soft as it looked.
"Mangyu, look!"
Seungkwan's voice snapped him out of his thoughts. Mingyu quickly averted his gaze, clearing his throat awkwardly as he walked over to the mirror by the wardrobe.
"Bookkeu is so cute! Seungcheol hyung sent me photos," Seungkwan said, holding up his phone. "Ah... I really miss my baby."
Mingyu glanced briefly at the pictures of Seungkwan's puppy. "Could you at least lie down properly?" he muttered.
Seungkwan pouted, disappointed that Mingyu didn't comment on his precious baby. "I'm bored," he said, tossing his phone aside, clearly fishing for attention. Mingyu sighed softly, choosing to ignore him as he adjusted his appearance in the wardrobe mirror next to the bed where Seungkwan lay.
"When is Wonwoo arriving here?" Mingyu asked, casually.
"Tomorrow. He still has some work to finish," Seungkwan replied distantly, then glanced up at Mingyu. "Is Jeonghan already at the restaurant where you two are having dinner?" he asked softly.
"He's still shopping. He said he'll head out there in about half an hour, so I'll go around the same time too," Mingyu replied in an even tone.
Seungkwan's face lit up. "Really? We still have time, then!" he asked excitedly, wiggling on the bed. "I've got an idea! Ouch—MINGYU!"
Before Seungkwan could finish, his excited movements caused him to slip off the bed. Instinctively, he grabbed Mingyu's pants, pulling the taller man down with him.
"Shit!" Mingyu cursed as they both hit the floor with a loud thud, tangled up together.
Seungkwan groaned, half in pain and half in embarrassment. "That was not part of my idea..." he muttered, laughing awkwardly as he glanced at Mingyu. Mingyu, now lying on his side, had managed to catch Seungkwan's body just in time, instinctively shielding him from most of the impact. His arms were still wrapped around the younger man, leaving no space between them.
But Seungkwan's head hadn't been so lucky, and the dull ache made it harder to ignore the awkwardness of their position.
