Seungcheol hugged Seungkwan tightly, much longer and firmer than usual. It was unlike him, and Seungkwan grew curious.
"Eh? What's with the hug, hyung?" Seungkwan teased, whispering into the crook of Seungcheol's neck.
"Hm... You've never been away from me for too long," Seungcheol replied, making Seungkwan laugh as he pulled away.
"Come on, hyung. It's only for a week, and Japan is just two hours away. You can always visit me if you miss me that much!" Seungkwan teased with a smile.
"Really?" Seungcheol asked, sounding genuinely excited.
"Cheol-ah!" Their father chuckled, patting Seungcheol's shoulder. "Don't be like that—your baby brother has a husband now." His playful warning made everyone laugh, while Seungcheol sighed dramatically, pretending to be heartbroken.
Seungkwan smiled warmly, turning to hug his stepfather. "Thank you for everything, Papa," he whispered gratefully.
"Hyung, don't even think about disturbing Seungkwan's honeymoon, or I'll drag you back to New Zealand with me. Your job now is to take care of Bookkeu at home," Soonyoung chimed in, taking his turn to hug Seungkwan tightly.
Seungkwan chuckled. "I'll miss you and Latte so much, hyung. I'm sorry I won't be here when you head home, and thank you for postponing your return for my wedding. Hopefully, I'll hear about your wedding date soon!" he said, kissing Soonyoung's cheek. "And tell Channie I'm still mad at him for skipping my wedding."
Soonyoung laughed, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "Eyy, you know he had a big work project."
Seungkwan huffed, frowning a little, but he let it go. "But still..."
"Kwan-ah," Hyorin's voice interrupted. Seungkwan turned and immediately hugged his mother-in-law as she spread her arms wide. "Let me know when you two arrive, okay? My son always gets jet lag and never wants to be disturbed after a flight. I know you'll be fine, but as a mother, I still worry."
Seungkwan chuckled as Mingyu exchanged a glance with his mother.
"I will, Mother. Promise," Seungkwan laughed, mimicking the way Mingyu addressed her, which made Hyorin laugh too. As they pulled away, she smiled warmly at her son-in-law, gently stroking his cheek with affection. Mingyu noticed the tender moment, though he said nothing, quietly observing the exchange.
"Mingyu, I know I can trust Seungkwan with you. Just come back safely, okay?" Sohee said, her eyes welling up.
"Mom... why do you always cry?" Seungkwan asked, hugging her tightly and planting soft kisses on her cheek and head.
"Seungcheol was right, you've never been away from us for long. And when you come back from your honeymoon, you won't be living with us anymore either..." Sohee sobbed, her words tugging at Seungkwan's heart, but he quickly shook it off, trying to stay strong.
Still hugging his mom, Seungkwan turned to Mingyu. "Can we just bring our family with us?" he joked.
