"So. What is the task you give me? It's been months you kept me here and I want out of this deal." Draven asked as he looked and walked away from the sphere, Ondine only shook her head, "Then why aren't you letting me face who this is?" He asks as he looks at her.
Draven, the Phoenix Order general was trapped down in the waters for six months and he has become desperate to get out. "Like I said human, I own you now," "Own me? you must be crazy." Draven said, "She is crazy! that siren lured me and my men here and we've been here for so long too." A man said, he was shackled and caged, along with his soldiers, they were pirates, much like those Draven knew about. "Silence!" the siren said, all of the voices stopped talking. "Now," She looked at Draven, "It's either you stay here or I will end you," she glared, her anger was rising as she was getting irritated with him. "I'd rather get back up the surface and go back home," "But this is home, you belong with me." She grabbed his hand, but he yanked it away, "I don't want to be with you, Siren," He said, his tone getting more angrier. "Dont push me." she slammed Draven to his cage and locked it shut, "Now, you all will stay here forever!" she shouted and grinned as she closed the chamber and left them alone once more.
One day, as he languished in his cage, Levi came to him. The pirate captain's once-vibrant eyes were dulled from exhaustion, but beneath them burned something fierce. Levi's voice was a low rasp, worn from the saltwater and endless screaming into the abyss.
"Oi Lad," he whispered through the bars, glancing nervously around the chamber. Ondine wasn't here, not yet. Her presence lingered, a memory etched into every coral wall, every shimmering wave that danced across the chamber, but she was gone. Likely tormenting some other soul within her realm. "You're a fighter aren't ya? A man of honor and power, who commands armies? You've fought men more terrifying than monsters like her, haven't ya?"
Draven said nothing, his eyes half-lidded, as though the effort of listening was almost too much. But Levi pressed on.
"My men are finished. Whatever was left of them has withered away in these six months. The sea, the serpents, the siren lad... they're shells, not men anymore. But you..." He pointed to Draven's sword, its hilt glowing faintly. "That sword of yours, it's interesting, it holds power. I've seen you use it. You can light a fire, even down here, under the weight of the ocean. You could possibly break these chains."
Draven only glared at Levi. "What makes you think I have any interest in helping you, pirate? If you think a few words about honor and power will do you good, you're mistaken. I've been here for half a year—just like you. Do you see me clamoring for escape? Just accept that we won't be able to get back to wherever we were once."
Levi chuckled darkly, his voice a rough whisper. "No, I don't expect honor. I'd e a fool to ask for that in a place like this. But I can offer you something real—something you want, Lad." The pirate leaned closer, his eyes narrowing. "You get us out of here, you help me kill that fish-witch, and I'll give you something far more valuable than gratitude. I'll give you a ship. One of mine. Fastest vessel made by the great sailor Relemicus, if you ever laid eyes on, it will take you fast back home. You help us, we'll see to it that you sail free, while my men and I disappear like ghosts once more."
Draven stared at the pirate. His mind, dulled by months of captivity, felt the faintest flicker of interest. A ship. His way back. Back to dry land, back to where his flames would roar once more, unchallenged by the sea. The thought alone stirred something inside him, a smoldering ember in the ashes of his former self, he wanted to be back at land, back to Cassaport..
"And what makes you think I'll trust you to keep your word?" Draven asked, his voice sharper now, the hint of something dangerous beneath the surface.
Levi grinned, revealing teeth yellowed from salt and neglect. "Oh, you can trust me about as much as you can trust the ocean not to drown you, but dont worry, I wont steal that shiny sword of yours, my sabres are fine enough for me. So, what choice do you take? Help me, or rot in this cage until she grows tired of playing with you. Your choice, Lad."
