"Everyone is having their own inner battle and I am no exception."

Winter had arrived, bringing the winds and snow to the capital, Moscow. That day, I was walking around the dormitory near Bauman University.

"Just another day like yesterday," I said to myself. For me, everything in this life felt boring. Day by day, I lived without purpose or direction. That is, until today—the day it all began.

While walking, I noticed a young girl around my age on the opposite sidewalk. For a brief moment, our eyes met. Time seemed to stop. The falling snowflakes froze in the freezing winter sky.

Then, a car passed by and knocked her down into the snow. Instinctively, I rushed to her side.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

She didn't answer, just shaking her head.

"It's good that you're okay," I said. I helped her to her feet and introduced myself.

"Hi, I'm Dmitri, a sophomore here."

The girl immediately replied, "I'm Yulia, it's my first year here."

I always pay attention to detail, so at that moment, I glanced at her body.

"Her frame is so small, as if a passing wind could hurt her," I thought.

After a pause, I said, "What are you doing out here, and why aren't you wearing a jacket? It's December."

Yulia looked up at me and smiled.

"I'm sorry, I was in a hurry, so I forgot," she said.

Her green eyes met mine, and I felt a serenity I had never known. It was like walking through a peaceful forest. I stood there, awkwardly staring at her, unsure of what to say next. I'm not the type of person experienced in these kinds of situations, anyway.

"Anyway, it's nice to meet you. I'll see you around," she said, and with that, she turned around and left, leaving me standing alone in the middle of winter.

As she walked away, I felt a little regretful.

"I wish I could have talked to her a little longer."

From a distance, I watched her figure fade behind the snowflakes. On the way back, I couldn't stop thinking about Yulia. Her figure was etched in my mind—the memory of her eyes, her tone of voice.

"I don't know if I'll see her again. But what do people call this feeling?" I wondered.

My head was full of questions until I fell asleep that night. That fateful day had changed everything. The world no longer seemed monotonous or tasteless. It was the day I met her.

The next morning, on my way to school, I stopped by a nearby Pyaterochka to buy a sandwich for breakfast. Suddenly, I heard someone call my name.

"Oh, senior Dmitri! What a coincidence! What are you doing here?"

I froze when I saw Yulia standing by a vending machine. She seemed to be buying breakfast too.

"A... I'm just buying breakfast," I stammered.

"What about you? Buying something?" I asked.

Yulia smiled at me and replied, "Yes, just buying some breakfast."

"Since we're both here, how about we go to school together?" I asked.

"Okay, sure!" she responded.

So, we chatted as we walked to school along the white, snow-covered road in the December winter. Walking with her, everything felt colorful, make me wished this moment could last forever.

The falling snowflakes, the morning sunlight shining on her face, revealing the pure beauty of her green eyes, and her innocent, silly personality—maybe that's why my life suddenly became full of color. Maybe that's why she always shines.
