"Dmitri! Dmitri!"

I opened my eyes and realized my head was resting on her lap.

"Oh, I'm so sorry! I must have dozed off," I said, feeling embarrassed.

"Have you been up long?"

Yulia smiled warmly.

"About fifteen minutes,"

 she replied.

"You looked so peaceful that I didn't want to wake you."

My face flushed with embarrassment. I'd been reviewing notes since I missed today's class, and I must have fallen asleep from exhaustion.

"Sorry to trouble you... especially since you're the one injured," I muttered, feeling guilty.

She laughed.

"It's no trouble at all. Actually, you looked kind of adorable while sleeping. You even drooled a little."

Hearing that, my cheeks burned with shame, leaving me at a loss for words.

"I guess you've seen all my bad habits now,"

I said with a playful tone.

"Just wait until you fall asleep; then it'll be my turn."

She raised an eyebrow, grinning.

"Go ahead, try it"

We were still laughing when the door suddenly opened, and a nurse entered the room.

"Sorry to interrupt, but I need to check Yulia's condition. Could you step outside for a moment?"

I nodded and turned to Yulia.

"I'll be right outside, okay? Be good!"

"You're making me sound like a little kid!"

she replied with a laugh.

I stepped out of the room and closed the door behind me. As I waited, a strange feeling washed over me, as if time had frozen just for us, allowing me to stay in that moment with her forever—a moment that felt like it was ours alone.

Suddenly, a voice startled me from my thoughts.

 "All done!"

 the nurse called out.

"Oh... thank you," I stammered, trying to compose myself.
