Chapter 7: 1939: Soviet PoV:

“Are you sure about this? You know how temperamental-”

“Mongolia, for the last time, he shouldn’t even think of relying on that Fascist bastard,” USSR snapped, turning around abruptly. Being on edge definitely wasn’t helped by Mongolia trying to dissuade her from starting a war with her brother.

“Okay… this just feels like a bad idea,” Mongolia sighed, taking a step back. He put his hands up in a slightly placating gesture.

USSR let out a heavy sigh, her shoulders slumping forward somewhat. “You’re fine, I’m just…” She trailed off, trying to find the right word. “Under a lot of stress.”

Mongolia nodded, humming softly.

. . .

“The hell, USSR?”

USSR pressed her lips together, gripping the rigid metal grip of the TT-33. She had to do this. For her people.

“Do not speak to me, you жалкий кусок финского мусора," USSR snarled, aiming her TT-33 right at the middle of Finland's chest. Kill kill kill kill ki-

“Woah! Hey, no need to point that thing at me!”

What are you waiting for? He's right there, you can just pull the trigger…

“USSR! USS-”

“Union of Socialist Soviet Republics! Stop your infernal bickering with Finland! I would very much prefer to have him in one piece!”

USSR blinked, realizing that she had hesitated for too long. She had to make this right. Otherwise…

USSR's stomach coiled away when the sickening crunch of the butt of her TT-33 against Finland's nose, breaking the cartilage. She just knew that sound would haunt her dreams and waking thoughts.

Finland clutched his face as he dropped to the ground, groaning in clear agonizing pain. He started to speak rapidly in a language that USSR couldn't understand, but she knew what he was doing. He was cursing her in Finnish.

USSR wanted to apologize, she wanted to help him, anything but just watch her brother curse and writhe in agony. Just shoot him. Shoot him now. USSR turned around and walked away, kicking Finland when he grabbed her ankle. She cringed when her heel hit his forehead.

Notes: Finland did rely on the Third Reich in WW2 for food, fuel, and armaments. Finland was always against the Soviet Union, so in 1941 when the Nazis invaded the USSR, the Finnish went ahead and invaded as well, causing the “Continuation War”. Mongolia didn’t actively participate in most of WW2, though did help the Soviets in the invasion of Manchuria. They also helped the Soviets by providing supplies during 1941-1945, which was a violation of their neutrality. Finland only really started to rely on the Third Reich in 1941, but in this, the Finnish started to rely on the Nazis starting in November of 1939. Жалкий кусок финского мусора (Zhalkij kusok finskogo musora) means "A pathetic piece of Finnish garbage" in Russian. Notes are made of cartilage! That is why skulls are noseless. The TT-30/TT-33 (Aka Tokarev) was a small Soviet semi-automatic pistol made in 1930. It was developed in the late 1920s by Fedor Tokarev as a Service pistol for the Soviet Armed Forces. The Finnish actually did use the TT-33 but it was only really used once captured during the Winter War and the Continuation War. It was nicknamed the “Star Pistol” due to the large Red Army Star embossed on the grip panel. And yes, Finland and USSR are siblings in my AU due to them both being part of the Russian Empire before it collapsed.
