3rd POV

To say that Marcus won the fight is an understatement. He beat the shit out of Bolin. In fact, at this very moment, he was on top of him, continuously punching his face in. He was honestly surprised he was able to even do that amount of damage. Once Marcus backed up off of him, a bloody and bruised Bolin asked "where the hell did you learn how to fight like this?" Marcus wiped his own bleeding lip while laughing then looks at Bolin and replies, "Ya momma". Bolin slowly looked up at Marcus, visibly irked. "Keep my mom outta this, she didn't do anything.." Marcus scoffed then replied "then shut the fuck up about Akua." Silence filled the air besides the occasional heavy breathing coming from Bolin, who was beginning to question whether or not his rib was broken.

"Seriously...when did you get so strong? Were you just choosing to not fight back before?" Bolin asked. Marcus fully stood up and looked at his hands in thought, "I honestly don't know..."

"MARCUS!!!" The two boys looked over to see Akua sprinting full speed towards them. When she finally got to him, she pulled Marcus into a tight hug. Marcus winced from the sudden impact. "Woah hey i'm fine, we're fine." he said trying to calm her down. Akua lifted her head to inspect his face, noticing a bruise on his cheek and some swelling around his eye. She took a step back and sucked her teeth then said, "I hope you beat his ass" before looking Bolin up and down and sassily walking away. "Damn..." Marcus heard Bolin mumble. He looked over to see Bolin checking her out and cleared his throat. "Wha-?" Marcus punched Bolin in the mouth before he could finish his statement. "I said watch how you talk 'bout my girl." he mumbled before walking to catch up with Akua.

The two runaways walked together in a comfortable silence. Every so often their hands would brush each other's but they both knew better than to let the touches linger, especially at a time like this. Akua tightened her grasp around the strap of the duffel bag on her shoulder, looked up at the sky and sighed, "Do you think we'll make it?" Marcus was quiet for a bit before responding, "Let's keep moving".

Yasmin and Alex were starting to grow impatient while waiting for their friends to show up and their negative thoughts were getting the better of them. "What if something happened? It's been a pretty long time.." Alex asked Yasmin. "They're smart, I'm sure they're okay. Something must have come up." Yasmin reassured him. The two had been busy playing hand games and people watching, trying to distract themselves from the dangerous reality they were living in.

"Hey...isn't that them right there?" Yasmin asked, pointing off into the distance. The fatigued pair was walking towards them looking relived. "Guys you made it!" Akua said excitedly walking up and hugging the two. Yasmin pulled away and looked down, "Well...most of us did...."

Silence filed the air for a second as Marcus and Akua registered what she'd just said. "What do you mean most?!" Marcus asked, "Where is Jay?!"

Yasmin saw the look of shame on Alex's face and decided to speak up for him, "Bo got him..we tried our best. He said to keep going and I trust him. I know he's alright." Alex gave her a thankful look and added "Yeah and he's hella fast. I'm sure he got outta there." with a hopeful smile. Marcus and Akua both stared at each other, then back at the duo deciding not to start an argument and to take their word for it for now. To say Akua was pissed was an understatement. She couldn't understand how you could just leave a person behind, especially her baby cousin. They had a plan and she was upset they didn't stick to it completely. Marcus noticed the look on her face and put a hand on her shoulder before whispering to her, "It'll be okay, he knows how to handle himself and he understands that plan inside and out. We'll find him." Akua took a deep breath before looking at the two before her and said, "When you guys are ready to tell us the full story of what really happened with my cousin...let me know." before walking past them and entering the festival. Alex and Yasmin looked at Marcus who shook his head and told them to follow him while he caught up to Akua.

The festival was always so pretty at night, with lights strung up everywhere, casting a soft, warm glow over the crowd. Lanterns hung from trees and tents, illuminating the paths with splashes of color that seemed to dance as people walked by. Music drifted through the air, blending with the sounds of laughter and chatter, creating a cozy, almost magical atmosphere. The smell of food stalls filled the air, inviting everyone to take a break and enjoy a snack. Everywhere you looked, people were smiling, bathed in the golden light, as if the festival itself was wrapping them in a comforting embrace.

The group went up to a few different venders buying necessities like more water, food, blankets, and some sweaters/jackets since the season was changing. Marcus wandered off from the group and found a table with all sorts of pretty gemstone necklaces and bracelets. "Shopping for someone special?" the vendor asked. Marcus looked over at the table that he left the trio at and smiled, taking notice of how serious Akua tried to look while haggling for the price on the food to go down. "Yeah".
