y/n walked out of the headmaster's office, her mind heavy with everything that had just happened. saikou megamo fell into step beside her, keeping silent. she didn't want to make small talk, and apparently, neither did he. the atmosphere felt tense and strange, like two unwilling allies forced together in some twisted game.

they didn't dare exchange a word until y/n finally broke the silence.

"do you think we could sit in the plaza?" she asked quietly, glancing at him. "i still need to text my family..."

megamo gave a slight nod, his tone neutral as he replied, "i don't see why not." they made their way to the school's central plaza, where cherry blossom trees gently dropped petals onto the stone pathways. megamo reached the door first and held it open for her as they entered the open area. the scene looked almost surreal, and peaceful—a stark contrast to the chaos churning in y/n's mind.

the idol took a seat on one of the benches shaded by a tree, the delicate pink petals gathering softly around her feet. she stared at her phone, hesitating on who she should call first. she wouldn't dream of calling her father in fear that miss iku might be listening. that brought her to her next option: her biological mother. y/n frowned...no, her was probably busy with work and the last thing she wanted was to unload this first thing in the morning.

the two haven't spoken in ages. so...that left the teen with one option.

finally, y/n began to dial saitō ryūji, her bodyguard and then held the phone to her ear as it rang. megamo sat down beside her, though he kept a respectable distance, his gaze flickering to the petals scattered on the ground before he quickly averted his eyes. the phone rang a few times before the older man answered, his deep voice echoing in her ear. "もしもし."

y/n took a steadying breath before replying, "hello. um, it's me..."

immediately, saitō's tone shifted, a hint of concern breaking through his usual stoicism. "miss s/n? is something the matter? you sound upset. what's wrong?" he began to interrogate her.

she clutched the phone tighter, biting her lip as she struggled to find the right words. "it's...complicated, saitō. there's been...an incident, and i need you to come back to school to pick me up."

"...what kind of incident?" he asked, the edge in his voice unmistakable.

y/n hesitated, sighing as she continued, "there was...an attack, and...there were victims. people died. it was those two interviewers that i met a few days ago, and apparently, it...it was directed at me. it's all over the news." she stammered, her voice breaking slightly. she cleared her throat as she continued, "i've been dismissed for the day. they want me to be somewhere safe."

there was a brief silence on the other end, then saitō's gruff voice returned, stronger than before. "i'll be there in fifteen minutes, miss s/n. wait in a safe area, and do not leave your current location until i text you. understood?"
