Sophia knew that whatever creature lurched in this barn, it would have already sensed her. Her guard was higher and the adrenaline even higher than that. No matter what she did, it would know. They would know.

Sophia observed her surroundings. She was in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but trees and the creatures that called it home. But if she listened very carefully, she could hear the small whispers and cries of the children. Her blood boiled, fuelled by her anger.

"Hello!" She shouted, she raised her pistol and fired, up into the air, its bullet flied into the night sky. "EXCUSE ME! I BELIEVE YOU HAVE SOMETHING I WANT!" She grew bored and tired of waiting, she unsheathed her sword, it sung against the palm of her hands.

She took the lack of movement from the vampires as a sign to begin her mission. She opened to old wooden door at the entrance of the barn. It screamed in resistance against its hinges, the sound was enough to make Sophia cringe.

Her eyes adjusted to the darkness in no time, the barn was filled with cobwebs and animal carcasses.
"Ewww!" Sophia groaned."Children? Where are you?" Sophia shouted, her voice shaking in fear of what she might find.

Her mind was racing with the dark thought that maybe, just maybe, she was too late. The children she would find would be either dead or vampires.

The poor pale face of William haunted her, that poor innocent boy who could be filled with bloodlust at that very moment. It terrified her. But these thoughts she had to push away.

She searched and searched through the barn but was yet to find any sign of life. It was not until she heard a loud creak below her feet. She kicked at the old dry straw, a trapdoor was under the floor. She wedged her sword into the gap and levered the planks.

She raised the door high enough so that she was able to fit through. She jumped down the shallow hole and crawled through the passage she saw ahead, at the end of the narrow corridor, was yet another door. Sophia kicked at it, she hoped it would break it completely.

With one final attempt Sophia shouted as she put her whole strength into one final attack, the thick door roared against its hinges and broke off completely, falling down onto the floor with one loud 'thud.'

Sophias eyes scanned through the darkness, searching for the children. That is when she saw them, children all cowering in the corner of the dark room. They looked at her with utmost fear in their eyes. She sheathed the sword back into its scabbard.

Sophia whispered to them and tried to convey her kind nature as she spoke. "Hello there," They scuffled their way attempting to move further away from Sophias, mysterious voice. "It's me, Its Sophia, remember?"

Their eyes widened in shock, the children's eyes then began to flood with tears as they realised they were finally saved. "Come now, follow me my dears, before they find us." Sophia whispered.

They all nodded in unison, as their own thoughts brought back the memories of the demons they had seen, that had taken them a few weeks ago."Stay close now." Sophia said.

She led the children through the tunnel and out into the barn. just as she peered out of the door, she saw the figure.

It sped up to her, but she had not expected such a thing to happen. It sunk its teeth into her neck and she felt life fade away, she returned to the darkness.

This time she fought and screamed at death, she clawed her way through the darkness and she saw the light once more. This time it felt different, quicker than ever before, she could still feel the vampire by her side.

She unsheathed her sword and lunged at the monster poking it through his neck, she spun taking his head off in one swift movement .

Another figure appeared from the trees, a woman this time, there was no doubt about it she was beautiful. Sophia, in that moment, froze.
