I can hear the whispers
so many all around
pushing out inside my skull
pushing me to the ground
like a thousand pounds
and a thousand pounds more
pushing against me
pushing me out the door
I can hear the whispers
out of my comfort zone
dragging me down empty streets
dragging me from my home
like a herd of wild horses
all tethered to me
racing across open fields
racing to the sea
I can hear the whispers
from the surf, rocks and sand
calling me to ocean's depth
calling me off the land
like the call of the sirens
lifting me across the waves
and far beneath the waters blue
unto my end of days
