8: An Ancient Civilization

Loki's P.O.V:

When that fishy Infernal that ate us exploded, We finally arrived at our destination. The Gates Of Hell, Though it appears to be upside down and contained in a pyramid crystal.

"This is..." Bayonetta mumbled as she sees the contained Gates Of Hell.

"Welcome to hell, Love, Hot Stuff. Too late to repent." I said making a joke. Which only made my lovely sorceress to lightly chuckle for a few seconds till she looked at the Gates with a sad look.

Though I've noticed and was lightly concern as I asked, "What's wrong, Love? Is about your partner? It'll be okay, She's a demon, Isn't she? She'll be A-okay once we find her and your friend back at the Hell she calls home." I do my best to try and assure her.

She smiled, only for a little bit for the effort, "Yeah. Though Jeanne was pretty reckless, risking her life saving Cereza's, and those dang hands of hell breaking the rules and kidnapping her soul."

I was a bit shocked at that. Though I realized that I never asked them why they want to go to Inferno. Now I do.

"Well, she doesn't seem like such a bad friend, after all. Fimbulventr can wait for now. I'm opening the Gate." I said as I walk around.

"Thank you, Nicky. We couldn't have gotten this far without you." Lucinda smiled in thanks to me.

"Oh, I can't just leave you and your friend at a shuttered gate after your sob story, love." I said, Lightly shrugging with a teasing smile.

"Besides, who's gonna save you if our stalker decides to show up again!?" I added, making a good point since nothing seems to stop the stubborn Masked Lumen from following us, either by the exploding pulse he and Bayonetta caused during their first battle along with Lucinda, or that Insidious that just blew up.

"And I made a promise, Didn't I?" I added again, while lightly taking Lucinda's hands, reminding her of the promise we made the moment we were 'properly' introduced.

"Hmm." She pretended to think, which was cute, till she says "And which one was it again?" She teased with a playful smile.

I lightly chuckled, liking more and more of Lucinda's playfulness and everything about her. Then remind her "That I'd help you get your friends back. And another promise. To protect and love you, Lucinda. Till death due us part."

I don't know why I said those exact same words I said to the one I loved many years ago, But I knew I made the right call.

But then I started to have a headache again, and so did Lucinda to my surprise.

"Y-you okay, Love?" I asked, straining to keeping from feeling any more pain from the effects of the Remembrance of Time. Though I'm not completely sure if she has it too.

"Yeah. I'm alright. I guess I'm just having past memories returning to me. Though I really wish they weren't such a pain." She assured me, though I can tell she's still aching as she was rubbing her head temples to ease her headache.
