Flashback:

Kailasha was always a sight to behold.  With its mountains that teared the sky apart and the snow which was spread across the region. The place always held a air of serenity and peace around it. Even being living in Kailash for more than a thousand years, it's beauty always amazed the God of War.

But today the usual serenity was lacking. Instead the air was eerie. So silent and it was suffocating Muruga. His sister was not waiting for him as she will everytime when he will return.
It was concerning.

'Maybe she is just mad at me.'

He reassured himself saying that.

Something was wrong, he could feel it at his bones. His instincts screamed at him that something went terribly wrong and he had a feeling that it was about his sister.

He hurriedly traced the path towards his sister's chambers. Even after her marraige, she wished to have the same chambers as it held precious memories for her and she wished to share with her husband. Who are they to deny the wish of Kailasha Princess?

The Palace was empty. He couldn't see or hear a single living being in it. As he neared her chamber, he watched his mother exiting her chamber. The site fill him with happiness like always instead it filled with dread.

His mother's face was pale and dull. Her usual smile was lacking. She had dried tears on her cheeks. His mother who would always sense his presence when he would enter Kailash, now she didn't sense his presence while he was so near her.

He hoped everything was fine.

He called out slowly not to startle her, "Maa...?"

Devi Parvati flinched hearing him. And the tears started to fall from her eyes again.

Muruga panicked seeing her cry and held her. He asked, "What happened ma?"

Her lips wobbled. She couldn't find the right words to convey the dreadful thing that happened to Isha.

Even the powerful goddess couldn't overcome the pain of losing a child. And Parvati was losing her only daughter. She could only hope her Isha cam overcome the loss.

She stammered, "Ras-atala Asurs- att-acked Isha--"

His mind went blank for a second. Why would the Rastala asurs attack Isha? Why now all of a sudden? They were quite for a few decades and their king had promised peace with them.

The anger was coursing in his vein, testing his self control. No one harms his sister and gets away with it.

No one.

He rushed past his mother without hearing the rest of her words. Maybe he should have listened to his mother which would have prepared him for the next few minutes.

He entered inside the room and it felt wrong. His sister's room was always alight, she disliked darkness. Now the curtains were closed and the room was dark except for some candles illuminating the room.

The air was sombre. His heart raced and sweat trickled down his forehed as he observed the state of his sister's room.

His eyes searched for her and found her lying on the bed lifelessly. She was staring at nothing and her was blank. It scared Muruga to see his sister in such state.

He cautiously approached her and touched her shoulder. She flinched away from him. He froze.

'She flinched. She is afraid. What did that wretched asurs do to my Isha?' He thought with despair.

His heart ached seeing his sister's reaction. Isha came out of her blank state and stared at her brother for a minute. Slowly tears started flowing down her cheeks.
