In his dimly lit dorm room, Elias sat in his creaky chair, slowly rocking back and forth, the motion hypnotic.

His  black hair swayed gently, the only calmness in the room, as he absentmindedly stroked the feathers of his pet, a small, alien bird perched on his finger.

Its vivid, metallic sheen glinted in the low light, contrasting with the dark storm brewing in Elias’s eyes.

The diary in front of him lay open, pages filled with frantic scribbles, words crossed out and rewritten, as if desperately trying to make sense of something that had gone terribly wrong.

“How… how could things go astray like this?”

Elias muttered under his breath, his eyes narrowing as he stared at the scribbled mess.

His fingers trembled slightly as they flipped to the next page, the ink smeared in places where his hand had pressed too hard.

“Celian wasn’t supposed to be rescued this early,” he hissed, his voice growing harsher with every word.

The memory of his previous life flashed before his eyes—a dark, twisted satisfaction bubbling up from the depths of his mind.

He had written it all down, every single event that had unfolded. He could still remember it vividly, as if it had only happened yesterday.

In his mind’s eye, Elias saw Prince Celian—broken, soaked in blood, his once flawless face marked with deep, jagged scars. One of his  hand was mangled, half-eaten by the Zpyer that had attacked him. The royal knights had found him two days later, barely alive, a shadow of the proud prince he once was.

Elias let out a twisted laugh, his voice reverberating eerily in the small room.

“Yes… that expedition ruined him,” Elias whispered, his smile curving into something wicked.

“His leg was left useless… his face, once so beautiful,

marred by claws so deep no medicine could ever fix it.

He was pathetic, a disgrace.”

Elias closed his eyes, savoring the memory—the way Celian’s downfall had unfolded so perfectly.

“The king didn’t even care about him anymore. He became worthless, an embarrassment to the royal family. His engagement was broken, his influence shattered.” Elias chuckled, a dark, manic sound escaping his throat.

“And it made my life so much easier.”

Ha ha ha ha ha

But then, his laughter cut off abruptly, and his grip on the bird tightened. “But now… now everything is different.”

His hand squeezed the small creature's neck just a little harder, the bird letting out a small, panicked sound. Elias didn’t even notice as he rocked harder in his chair, his frantic mind racing.

“Why… why this time? What changed?”

He stared down at his diary, flipping through page after page, trying to find the answer.

“Everything was supposed to be the same! Everything!” His voice grew shrill, the anger creeping into every syllable. “But ever since Astraea started interfering…”

The bird in his hand struggled, but Elias’s grip only grew tighter, his eyes wild as he choked it harder.

“She wasn’t supposed to exist!  In my previous life,No one like her was there!”

His breathing grew ragged, his eyes darting back and forth as if searching for a way to make sense of the chaos that had erupted in his carefully laid plans.

“Celian should’ve been broken, ruined. But Astraea—” He spat her name like venom. “She’s ruined everything!”

The bird let out a final weak chirp, its body going limp in his hand as Elias’s anger boiled over. He barely noticed as he tossed the lifeless creature aside, his mind consumed by a whirlwind of madness.

“Astraea…” he whispered, his voice dripping with malice. “Who are you? How dare you interfere?”

His hands trembled as he ran them through his hair, pulling at the dark strands. His breathing was ragged now, fury coursing through his veins.

“I’ll make sure you regret it… I’ll make sure you pay for stepping into my perfect life.

You should’ve never existed.”
