I actually ended up writing two poems on the same topic, and now I can't decide which one to post... So, guess what? I'm posting both! They have the same meaning, but I feel like they're not exactly similar... and well, my mind is still buffering on how to explain that properly. 😅

I watch you from a distance,
With eyes that know you'll never see me,
Caught up in someone else's world,
While I linger in the shadows, quietly.
Your laugh, your smile-both out of reach,
But still, I hold them close,
Knowing your heart's already taken,
Yet mine still beats for you the most.
I don't need you to know my name,
Or ever see the love I hide,
I just want to see you happy,
Even if it means staying on the outside.
I'll protect you from the silent corners,
Where my love lives, deep and true,
You'll never know the things I've felt,
But I'll always care for you.
And though you'll never look my way,
My love remains, though incomplete,
Unconditional and far away,
A quiet heart, accepting defeat.
