Here's a simple and delicious fries recipe that's easy to follow:
Ingredients:
4 large potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold work best)
2-3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Optional: 1/2 teaspoon paprika, garlic powder, or any seasoning you like
Instructions:
1. Prep the Potatoes:
Start by washing and peeling the potatoes (you can leave the skin on if you like more rustic fries). Cut them into even-sized strips, about 1/4 inch thick, for that classic fries look. Try to keep the size consistent so they cook evenly.
2. Soak the Potatoes:
After cutting, place the potatoes in a bowl of cold water for 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier when cooked. After soaking, drain and pat the fries dry with a clean towel.
3. Season the Fries:
Preheat vour oven to 220°C (425°F). Put the dried potato strips into a large bowl. drizzle with olive
oil, and toss them around to coat. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and any extra seasonings you want (paprika, garlic powder, or chili flakes work great).
4. Bake the Fries:
Spread the fries out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Make sure they're not touching too much so they can get crispy. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, turning them halfway through, until they're golden brown and crispy.
5. Serve:
Once out of the oven, you can add a little more salt if needed. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, and enjoy your homemade fries!
These oven-baked fries are a healthier alternative to deep-fried ones but still give you that crispy, delicious taste.
That was so out of character
