I was knocked out and when I woke, I stood up kinda wobbly. I put my hand up and hit something solid. I turned to my other sides and on top of me, there was glass on all sides. I slammed into one, not remembering that I was shot. I moaned out in pain.
Then I realized it was a tank, and as soon as I realized that, it started filling with water. This time I just decided to accept my death. I sank to the bottom and waited to die. But death didn't come, actually saving grace did. All of a sudden, I felt a bang and the water just flowed out onto the floor, me along with it. I looked up into the eyes of my aunt, Natalie Prior.
She grabbed my hand and hauled me up. I gasped because she pulled the arm in which I was shot in. She looked at my shoulder and gave a curt nod. She handed my a piece of fabric and I tied it around my shoulder. She took my hand and practically pulled me out of the building.
She grabbed a gun and handed it to me. I took it and we continued. Not long after, we heard pursuers. We hid and they started firing. She told me to run to this safe house where people will help me. Then she went out and the Dauntless soldiers shot her in the abdomen. She fell and I could hear myself screaming.
But somehow I got up and kept moving. The soldiers followed me. I shot behind me randomly until it went to one pair of feet. I turned and put my gun up to...Will! I thought of how he was my good friend and Beth's good friend and Chris' boyfriend. I thought of him always smiling or laughing. as if he read my mind, he smiled.
He brought his gun up to me and so did I. It was no use trying to get through to him. I looked away and shot. He crumpled and I sobbed but pushed forward.
Pretty soon, I reached the safe house. I knocked and my cousin and good friend, Beth, opened the door. She let me on with a gasp. Caleb and Andrew Prior ran out with the first aid kit. Caleb ditched me up. "Wh-where's my mom?", Beth asked. "She saved me twice. Once from a tank and another getting s-shot in the abdomen to give me time to escape.", I sobbed out. Beth sobbed and I gave her a hug.
A guy, who I recognized all too well, spoke up, "What do we do know?". I glared at him, "Well Marcus", I spit out his name like poison, "We will first allow time for grief if they need it, and then half of us will go to Dauntless and the other half will go to Amity to wait." I looked at the Priors.
They hair said that we should go so they can function then they can grieve later. I nodded and it ended up with me, Beth, Caleb, Andrew, and *sigh* Marcus. We run to the train tracks. I heard the train and said to get ready. Marcus looked worried.
The train came and Beth and I jumped on easily. I helped Andrew as Caleb jumped on and Beth helped Marcus. We rode until I saw the Dauntless building and told everyone to get ready. We jumped onto the roof and when I looked to see if everyone made it. Everybody was helping Marcus and I ran over to help.
I told them that we had to jump but that there was a net at the bottom. Beth jumped first than Caleb, Marcus, Andrew, and finally me. I got down and we set out.
