After getting John B home and made sure he was okay we all went home. Once JJ and I snuck in through my bedroom window he went to the door before stopping "Alright, you've been quiet the whole way home. What's up?" he asked only to be met with silence on my part before hearing him sigh before he opened my door and closed it making me look over my shoulder to make sure that he's gone before I walk over to my bed and sit down before the tears immediately started pouring.
The next day we all met back up, the tension in Chateau hanging thick like an impending storm that's threatening to unleash chaos on all of us. I still wasn't talking to JJ because I was still pissed off about the night before to which I had ended up crying myself to sleep (pitiful I know) "Look, I'm callin' it off. Alright? Peterkin said, if I stay out of the marsh, she'll help me with DCS." John B said making me sigh "And you believe her?" JJ asked making me roll my eyes "like you have anything to say about it" I muttered under my breath causing him to give me a look
"Yes, I believe her, JJ." John B said annoyed "An actual cop, John B. You believed a cop." JJ said throwing a rock "Look, all I gotta do is stay out of the marsh for a couple days, and she'll help me out. And it doesn't help that your ass was the one shooting a gun." John B argued making me purse my lips "You know what I should have done? Just let Topper drown your ass." JJ argued making me glare at him as he threw another rock. "Topper was gonna drown me?" John B asked confused "Sure looked like it" JJ said making me sigh while running a hand through my hair "Funny" John B said as JJ pointed at him "I mean, have you looked in a mirror?" JJ asked talking about John B's black eye.
"Tell me some more. Come on." John B argued with JJ making me close my eyes knowing that the longer John B keeps arguing that JJ will finally snap. "They always win, don't they, man?" JJ said walking over to us leaning against the post "Kooks versus Pogues. They always, always win!" JJ said before hitting the lantern "Goddamn!" JJ snapped "Look, it's okay!" Kie started only to be cut off by JJ "No, it's not okay! It is not! They don't want us to go down into the marsh. That means there's something valuable down there, and you know it." JJ started before looking at Pope " And I understand why you don't wanna go. You're the golden boy. You got way too much to risk." he said before looking at Kie "And you, I mean, you're already rich as fuck anyway. Why would you bother?" JJ continued before looking at me "And you my lovely sister, I know that you don't want to risk getting into trouble with dad and I know you're mad at me for some unknown reason" he said before looking at me and John B "We've got nothin' to lose! We really don't, alright?" JJ said
"JJ" John B started only to be once again cut off by JJ "Alright. And I know it didn't use to be that way for you." JJ argued making John B shake his head "I don't want to talk about this. I don't want to talk about it." John B said before he goes to walk away "So that's it?" JJ asked "Just get out of my way, bro" John B said shoving past JJ. "John B, listen to me. I have a plan." JJ said making Pope, Kie and I to look at each other curiously as we wait for JJ's plan.
"You got the key to Cameron's big boat, right?" JJ asked John B "No" he said only for JJ to continue "There's scuba gear inside. So, we borrow that, and then we go down to the wreck this afternoon, and that is what's gonna save you, man." JJ explained only being met with silence making JJ continue "You don't see rich kids going into foster care, do you?" JJ asked making me roll my eyes and sigh "JJ, seriously" I said only to be ignored
A few hours later and we're back on the boat with the tanks that John B had in fact stolen from the Cameron's. "This is empty. You took empty tanks?" Kiara said annoyed "I.." John be started but then stopped not really having a reason behind why he grabbed the empty tanks. "Okay, this one's a quarter full. It's enough for one of us." Kie said making me quickly raise my hands up in defense "absolutely not me. I'm having no part of this" I said "Love it when a plan comes together" Pope said sarcastically as I nodded "Does anybody know how to dive?" Kie asked only to be met with silence.
