Third POV

another week timeskip because i'm lazy

The big game that would decide Blue Lock's fate was a week away. Y/n and Ego had come to the agreement that it would be best to run tryout matches and dance lessons simultaneously. But, y/n was still y/n.

Still ruthless in her teachings. Most of the players had begun to hate her even more than they already did. She refused to give them a break.

They still had time before their match?

She forced them in the studio.

Their match was over?

It didn't matter how much time was left in the day, she forced the exhausted players into the studio.

And it goes without saying that if the players didn't have a match, they were in the studio all day.

The first day of tryouts was team A1 against B1. Shidou, despite his jackassery when y/n first arrived, was devasted that he couldn't be with her. Rin and Isagi were the same, but they didn't let it show. And Chigiri, he couldn't get her off his mind.

He was the first person she had opened up to, kinda. Though it was very obvious that she didn't want to be there. He had wanted to ask her about it but didn't know how to approach the topic.

He shook his head, trying to focus back on the game. But he simply couldn't. B1 ended up losing and Chigiri couldn't help but wonder if it was due to his mind being elsewhere. He resolved to ask y/n what he needed to before it weighed on him any longer.

As y/n worked with the tired players, Chigiri constantly tried to bring it up, failing every time.

She was busy trying to teach, and Shidou wouldn't stay off of her.

Once the class was over, y/n bolted out of the room, causing Chigiri to groan in frustration. No one knew that y/n was living in the Blue Lock facility, sure they had seen her late at night. But they all assumed that she had just stayed late for whatever reason.

Chigiri began to give up hope as he wandered the halls that night. He couldn't sleep no matter what he tried, and when he heard soft sobs coming from a room everyone thought was vacant, it woke him up even more.

He softly walked over to the door and listened quietly. Inside, y/n was feeling extremely homesick. Sure, she had her father, but he was busy most of the time.

"I want to go home," she mumbled through tears.

Then, the door slid open with a soft hissing sound. Y/n jolted up, wiping the tears from her face in worry as she made eye contact with very surprised Chigiri. He hadn't meant to open the door, but accidentally bumped the thing.

The two sat in awkward silence before Chigiri broke into a stuttered apology as a blush spread across his face, making it hard to distinguish where his face began and his hair ended.

Y/n looked away in embarrassment, patting the spot next to her. Chigiri approached cautiously, closing the door behind him before sitting down. The two were left in darkness, the only illumination being the numbers on y/n's alarm clock and a small lava lamp.

Y/n hated when people saw her like this, weak and crying like a child. But, something about Chigiri pulled her in, made her feel safe. She choked back another sob, causing Chigiri to look over in worry.

He took a deep breath and took her into his arms, resting her head on his chest. Y/n tensed at the contact before melting into him and letting all the tears fall. After about 30 minutes of crying, y/n pulled away, wrapped herself into a blanket burrito, and plopped down.

Chigiri, against his better judgment, laid down next to her, holding her to his chest. As y/n drifted off in his arms, she whispered a small yet genuine question that made Chigiri's heart drop.

"Chigiri....Why do you care about me?"

A/N: I took a risk and did a thing.....I feel like ending this chapter this way was cringy. Sorry, y'all.
