Third POV
Y/n grabbed Ego by the arm, pulling him out of earshot of Shidou.
"Don't you think that's a little much Dad?" she asked, looking up at him. Ego shook his head.
"No. I don't. I don't care if he didn't do anything inappropriate y/n. But he still made you scared, as well as essentially holding you hostage," he sighed, clinging to his daughter's arm. He may be an insane egoist, but he IS still a dad.
Sure, when he had first brought y/n to Blue Lock he had told Anri that the only reason he wasn't too happy with it was because of the core philosophy of dance. But that was only half of the truth. Ever since y/n was a young girl, she always grabbed people's attention.
And that only increased as she grew. She was a very beautiful young woman, and the amount of boys and girls alike who confessed to her daily was astronomical. Anyone could see that, and there had been some not-great people shoved into their lives because of it.
And somehow, y/n didn't see it. She was convinced that she was, in her own words, 'A fugly gremlin' which was closely followed by a very gremlin-like laugh every time the subject was brought up.
But this was a facility full of boys who hadn't seen the outside world in a while....that included girls. He was scared for her safety, which is why he didn't tell them she was staying there as well. He had seen Chigiri stumble across her room that night but said nothing upon seeing his reaction, and seeing that y/n herself invited him in.
But it just so happened that when he had to be away from the facility for the planning of this stupid game, something like this had to happen. He was frustrated and honestly considering sending her back to Russia.
He had wanted to talk to her about it that night, but again, something just HAD to happen. He sighed, turning back to Shidou and sending him a harsh glare.
"You may go. But if I EVER see you near my daughter's room again," he pulled y/n into his side protectively, "I WILL have you locked off and your life ruined. Got that?"
Shidou stood, his eyes still glued to y/n as he nodded slowly and walked off.
"I'll be back for you Pretty Girl," he whispered in y/n's ear as he passed, chuckling lowly.
Y/n shuddered, leaning into Ego even more, almost knocking the two of them over. Ego sighed loudly as he plopped on his chair. Y/n sat on the floor next to him, something she had done since she was a child. Ego looked down at his daughter, his eyes softening.
"Are you okay kiddo?"
Y/n sighed in annoyance.
"Yes. I get why everyone keeps asking me that, but still....it's annoying..." she trailed off, looking at the ground.
"You want to go home?" Ego asked, raising a thin eyebrow.
Y/n thought for a moment. All the players HAD gotten better, so her work was pretty much done. And she had wanted to go home the moment she got here. But, there was the fact of Chigiri, Isagi, Bachira, Reo, Nagi, hell, even Rin.
Tokimitsu and Aryu weren't as close to her, but they still tried. And while Barou was a complete asshole, he had simmered down a bit and was trying to be nicer, especially after their short yelling match.
But there was still the problem of Shidou.
He knew where her room was now. And even if she switched rooms or simply locked the door. She had a sinking feeling that he would find her and force his way in. She sighed softly, leaning her head on Ego's chair.
"Mhm...I'd like that a lot...."
Ego nodded, sitting up slightly and starting to book the flight. Y/n stood quickly and put her hand over his to stop him.
"But I want to wait until after the game," she stated looking into her father's eyes with determination blazing in hers, "I may not be a soccer fanatic like you and the rest of these guys....but I still had a hand in this. I won't abandon my job, I refuse."
Ego's eyes widened, he had never seen her so eager when it came to anything involving soccer. He would be lying if he said it didn't melt his heart. So he cleared his throat, took his hand off the mouse, and responded.
"Alright then, after the game."
