𝑯𝑬𝑹𝑬'𝑺 𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑻𝑯𝑰𝑵𝑮...It was Journey's day off. She didn't have anything in her planner about being at the Matthews house this weekend. But here she was, in front of the Matthews door, getting ready to help make Maya's birthday as special as she could.
When Journey opened the door, she was met with a bright smile. "Hi, Journey!" Riley beamed as she stepped to the side for the girl.
"Hey Riley, Hey Maya" Journey waved at the best friends ignoring the eye roll Maya gave the girl.
"Hey," Maya responded coldly.
"Happy Birthday-" The curly headed girl smiled "-got you this" She continued fishing out a yarn piece out of her shoulder bag.
"Oh um, thanks" Maya gave the girl a tight-lipped smile while taking the present and inspecting it. "It's fingerless gloves I crocheted," Journey informed the girl.
"Kind of went with your vibe you know?" She finished. "They're nice Journey" The birthday girl nodded.
"Er-Um why are you here?" Maya asked, raising an eyebrow. "Oh! Riley wanted me to come over to celebrate with you and capture some memories" Journey informed the girl.
"Oh great"
The girl's brief conversation came to an end when the sound of the door unlocking caught the three girl's attention. Journey wasn't expecting the face she saw when the door opened.
"Are you really here?" Riley cheesed looking at the person.
"Yep I'm really here" Shawn chuckled closing the door behind him.
"Uncle Shawn!" Riley beamed opening her arms for a hug. With a smile, Shawn walk to the girl giving her a hug.
"Hey sunny" Shawn turned to the eldest teen. "I thought I was kid?" Journey chuckled reminding the man of her usual nickname.
"Sunny feels more appropriate for you" The man teased pulling the girl into a hug.
Once the pair let go Shawn turned to Maya. "Hey," he said. "Hey," Maya replied with a slight smile. "Oh, what the heck" Shawn gave in hugging the young girl.
