As they were talking, the waiter brought the food, and they began to eat.
"Arun, we'll need to stay here tonight. It'll be evening by the time we reach Coimbatore."
"Alright, sir."
"Then, we need to get Joseph's photo and other details. With that, we can go through the case easily..."
"I had already informed Ardra about this. She's good at quickly finding old case files like this, but it might take some time."
"Ah, that's fine. It doesn't matter how long it takes. But...we need to win this case. That's all that matters."
They continued chatting like this and finished their meal. After washing their hands, they went to pay the bill.
While paying, Arun asked the cashier, "Where can we catch a bus to Coimbatore from here?""There's a bus stand about one and a half kilometers from here. You should be able to catch a bus to Coimbatore there."
"Alright," Arun smiled at him. At that moment, Ram was on a phone call.
Seeing Arun coming back, Ram hung up the call.
"Sir, there's a bus stand about one and a half kilometers from here. The cashier said we can catch a bus to Coimbatore from there."
"okay. Let's grab an auto and head over there then."
"Okay, sir."
They hailed an auto and reached the bus stand. After searching, they found a bus to Coimbatore and boarded it to start their journey.
After a few hours, they arrived in Coimbatore. They headed to the nearby taxi stand at the bus station and approached a driver.
"Is there a good place nearby where we can stay?" Ram asked.
"Yes, sir," the driver replied.
"Then, take us there," Ram said, putting his bag inside the car.
"Alright, sir." The driver started the car, and they left. As the car moved, silence filled the space. Breaking the silence, Ram asked the driver, "Hasn't there been a factory shut down here for a while? Do you know anything about it?"
"Why do you ask?" the driver replied.
"Nothing, just curious to know."
"Sir, are you from the police?" the driver asked suspiciously. Arun and Ram were taken aback by the question and exchanged glances.
"No, I read about the factory in a weekly magazine. After reading it, I got curious and wanted to know more. I have an interest in these kinds of things."
"Ah... I've heard about them. People here had a hard time because of their goon activities. If they hadn't died back then, I or someone else would have killed them eventually... but no one had the courage to. Some of their men used to come to my father's grocery store. They ran their business through small shops like that. Once, they told my father to deal drugs on the side. My father refused, saying he couldn't do it. They beat him up in front of everyone and threatened to kill him. They also threatened to destroy our family. With no other choice, my father agreed. A few days later, the police came and took him to jail. After he was released, they came again to make him continue the business. In the end, he couldn't take their harassment anymore... I remember seeing him lying on the bed... There was poison on the nearby table..." His voice cracked, and they could sense the pain.
Arun and Ram stood there, unsure how to console him.
