"Do you think all these wounds will really heal with one injection, doctor..? Some of them last for years...." he said in a firm voice, and she felt as though a powerful weapon had pierced her chest. But she ignored it and started to leave.
"This is something you can handle... I have some work to do... I'm leaving now..." Aditi began to walk away after looking Meera.
"Alright, doctor.." Meera replied and got busy with her tasks. Meanwhile, he looked at Aditi with a devil's smile. 😈
The shock of seeing him still hadn't faded from her mind. She heard people crying, someone sobbing, and something breaking. She saw a little girl walking hand-in-hand with her father, a boy running after them, the girl celebrating her birthday with some others, and her smiling and enjoying it all. Then, suddenly, she broke down and cried. Gradually, a grudge began forming in her young heart, and these scenes flashed in her mind like a movie.
She got up from her chair, and the image of Karthik appeared in her mind. She took her bag and left. After some time, Aditi arrived at the CBI office. She stood there worried about how she would find him. Karthik wasn't answering her calls. Just then, Manu came out of the office.
"Manu... where's Karthik?" Aditi stopped him with a wave of her hand and asked.
"Haa...Dr. Aditi... he's in a meeting... he'll be free in a while... just fifteen minutes. If you go inside, take a left, and sit in the visitor's chair, you'll be able to see him as soon as he comes out," Manu explained in one go.
"Thanks... thank you so much," Aditi replied with a smile, and he left. She went to the place he mentioned and sat down. Her mind was still turbulent.
As Manu had said, Karthik finished his meeting and came out within fifteen minutes. When he unexpectedly saw Aditi there, his eyes widened in surprise.
"Why are you here?" Karthik approached her and asked. She didn't say a word. He noticed a change in her face. He sat quietly next to her.
"He's here," Aditi said without looking at him.
"Who...?" Karthik turned towards her, asking.
"MICHEAL..." Aditi said seriously.
The moment she said that name, Karthik turned away from her, clenched his fist, and his eyes turned red. The smile he'd had seeing her faded. His heart began to beat faster. She watched his reaction without blinking.
"Karthi...don't get tempered about the past...it is Useless...we forgot everything and started a new life..." Aditi placed her right hand on his left hand.
"No matter how much time passes, no matter what disguise we wears... can I ever forget what he did? Can you...?" he replied.
"No, Karthi. What he did isn't something we can just forget. He destroyed what could have been our lives. And now... he's back again," Aditi's eyes filled with anger as she looked at Karthik.
"Karthi... we must make him pay for what he did. But... we can't act rashly. We've kept our past hidden for so long with great effort... our new image... it must remain intact. Whatever we do, it should be done so discreetly that not even a fly would know.." Aditi said firmly.
"What you mean..?" Karthik looked at her.
"Karthi, he has some motive... I could see it in his words, in his eyes. He harbors hatred towards us... he could attack us at any moment, maybe even the next. We just need to stay alert, always prepared for any situation he might create."
"We should eliminate him in one strike... if only he were right here in front of me, I would have... I would..." Karthik clenched his fist again.
"Karthi... didn't I tell you? He must have made all sorts of preparations by now... I know him better than anyone. That's why we need to figure out his intentions. I'll find that out. Until then, be patient. One mistake from us is all it would take... for our ruin... he'll escape again." She said in a firm voice.
"Hmm... but what if he does something to you?" He asked in tensed voice.

"Hmm... be careful. I'll do whatever I can," Karthik said, and Aditi blinked both eyes at him as if to say she understood.
"Then let me leave... I have a lot of work. I just came because I wanted to see you..." Aditi stood up and said. Karthik nodded in acknowledgment, and she smiled back.
Karthik went to his cabin. Just then, he received a call on his phone.
