"Rajeev... are both the DNAs the same?" Ram asked Rajeev with a prayer in his heart, hoping that it wouldn't be what he feared.

"No, sir..."

"What...?"

"They're two different DNAs."

Hearing Rajeev's words, Ram felt a sense of relief. He sighed deeply.

"Alright... I'll come over."

"Okay, sir..." Rajeev said, cutting the call. Ram quickly finished his meal and left for the lab.

"Sir..." Ram looked in the direction of Rajeev's voice.

"Ah... Rajeev... did you get the details on the knife I gave you?"

"I did, sir. The knife seems to have been custom-made. It's possible that the owner had it made specifically for his own use. There are carvings of dangerous animals on the hilt, likely to signify how dangerous its owner and his men are. This knife also has a unique quality-it's designed to kill others swiftly or cause severe injuries. In other words, it's more lethal than other knives."

"Did you check the blood sample on it?"

"Yes, sir. The DNA I found on it is a partial match with the DNA from the necklace you gave me, though some differences exist. I haven't been able to identify who it belongs to yet. In my estimation, this knife has injured hundreds of people. Also, it's at least Ten years old. I couldn't find anything else."

"Alright... if you find anything more, just let me know."

"Sure, sir.." Rajeev said with a smile and walked away.

Ram felt an inexplicable sense of happiness. He mentally chided himself for his doubts and got back to his work.

Evening came. Finishing his tasks, Ram left for home. As he drove, he thought of Karthik.

"I wrongly suspected him... poor guy... and not for something trivial, either. I need to make it up to him. What should I do... maybe take him to a movie? He's a movie buff, right? That should do... and maybe we could grab dinner, too..." Thinking this, he continued driving. Suddenly, someone jumped in front of his car. Ram hit the brakes. He got out and approached the man.

"Hey... are you alright?" Ram asked with concern.

"Sir... I'm fine, but please save me... they'll kill me..." The man's eyes were filled with fear. His body bore marks of injuries, signs that he'd been assaulted.

"Get in the car quickly... I'll help you escape," Ram said, opening the back door. The man hurriedly got in. Without a second's delay, Ram accelerated and sped off.

"Who's after you... trying to kill you?" Ram asked, looking at him through the rearview mirror.

"It's... Jo... Joseph... he sent his goons after me..." the man replied, trembling with fear.

"Joseph? Which Joseph?" After hearing this Ram's eyes widened.

"He used to be a powerful gang leader. He's also the heir to DOMINE'S EMPIRE..." Ram was shocked.

"That means he's here..." Ram thought. Just then, several goons arrived in vehicles, surrounding Ram's car. Ram and the man were both frightened.

"Sir... how will we escape?" the man asked in a trembling voice.

"Don't worry; I'll get us out of here," Ram replied. But before he could finish, the goons approached the car with weapons drawn. Seeing this, the man panicked, got out of the car, and ran.

"Hey!" Ram tried to call him back, but it was no use. The goons chased after him with weapons raised, and Ram followed. Ram fought off some of the goons and kept running to stop the rest. The man ran down an alley, with the goons right behind him.

Suddenly, someone appeared in front of the man, blocking his path. Seeing this figure, the man stopped in his tracks, looking at him with fear. The remaining goons looked at him harshly and stood behind the figure.

"Joseph... please spare me... I haven't done anything wrong... I was only following orders..." The man fell to his knees, pleading with tear-filled eyes.

"I didn't come all this way to spare you... Besides, your mistake was following orders. And those who make mistakes must be punished..." the figure said with a cruel smile.

"Ahhh...." The man's scream pierced through Ram's mind like a sharp needle, unsettling him. He rushed silently in the direction of the scream. When he reached the spot, he saw the man collapsing backward. In front of him, a shadowy figure was wiping off an axe. The darkness shrouded everything, making it hard to see clearly. Only the occasional headlights of passing vehicles on the main road broke the gloom. Ram walked a bit further. Just then, a vehicle passed by, and in its headlights, he saw the figure's eyes gleaming with a fierce light, burning with hatred. Ram steadied himself and continued moving quietly, hidden in the shadows.

As another car passed, the headlights revealed the figure. Ram froze, shocked.

"K...Karthik..." he whispered unconsciously.

Karthik was standing there, gripping an axe smeared with blood. Blood drops fell from the axe to the ground. Blood had also splattered on his face, neck, and shirt. His eyes glared with hatred at the lifeless body on the ground. A grim smile of satisfaction from revenge played on his lips. In the flashes of passing car lights, his figure looked terrifying.

"Bury this body in a place no one will find... leave no trace behind... finish it quickly," Karthik ordered in a grave tone, his voice colder than ever.

"Yes, boss..." one of the goons responded. The others wrapped the body in a sack and tied it up, placing the axe inside the sack as well. Karthik got into a car and left the scene, while the others drove off in a jeep.
