Charlie pov
"CHARLIE THEY'RE HERE!!! CHARLIE!!! CHARLES FOR GODS SAKE THEY'RE HERE!!!" screeched my twin sister in excitement. I barely had time to look up from the table when a stiletto boot smacked me in the face. '"HURRY UP!"
"Alright, alright!" I yelled, rubbing my head. Chloe was hopping up and down, one foot bare, and squealing like an annoying little rat. She was carrying two large overnight bags, saying something else but I cut her off with an irritated groan. I tossed her boot back. "And please stop throwing your shoes at me sis. I swear, and you're telling the others that I'm the annoying one? You could have taken out my eye with that heel!" I started grabbing objects off different shelves of the lab, shoving them in an overnight bag on the table and strapped a golden crucifix on my belt. A hologram screen next to the bag projected an image of four cars parked in a large forest clearing.
"Hurry up!" snapped Chloe, completely ignoring my words. She had yanked her boot back on her foot and was fidgeting impatiently. I rolled my eyes and slung the bag over my shoulder.
"Fine, let's go."
Chloe and I rushed down the twisting hallways of the organization, past the decorated murals and enormous doorways. Our boots clacked against the black marble floor, and echoed across the empty corridors. Normally the organization was crowded with agents but now it was almost deserted. It made me nauseous. Almost as much as I felt everytime I thought about the coronation.
We finally emerged in a huge room, filled with hundreds of rows of computer terminals. A large set of screens shaped as a cube stood in the middle of the room, towering at least two stories. Staircases led up to a sort of platform that circled the walls. The room, which was almost always noisy and bustling with agents was almost empty. But it was a relief when I saw a few people here and there, working on the computers.
I climbed up the staircase with my sister we and each stepped in one of the circles which were marked on the floor of the platform. As soon as I stepped inside my circle, I was lifted off the ground and for a split second, I was engulfed in darkness. I blinked as my feet touched firm ground again.
A certain feeling of calm filled my veins and my muscles instantly relaxing as a warm breeze blew across my face. The enormous trees of the forest, towering above a hundred meters, sheltered platforms where guards patrolled on duty. Just further up, we could make out the voices of teenagers. A wide grin spread on my face as we stepped in between the trees and into the large clearing.Chloe let out a squeal and barreled straight into Noah's arms. While the girls hugged, I greeted the boys and started to put our bags in Ryan's car.
"Isn't Bethany supposed to be here? And Carl?" asked Jason.
"Of course. You kids didn't think we'd miss the big coronation, did you?"
Everyone turned around to see our two training instructors emerge from the trees. My parents behind them. The others ran to them excitedly, voices overlapping. Carl chuckled and hugged each and every one of them.
"I see you all got your weapons back?" he asked. The others nodded excitedly. "Thank the twins, they made sure your weapons were in perfect shape before handing them to the Avalions to give to you."
"Well I am amazing, handsome and talented as hell so, no biggie." I gushed modestly. Raven, Jason, Mark, Jake, Noah and Ryan snorted loudly. My sister rolled her eyes. Indigo giggled. I grinned.
"I have a question though...why are my knives different than the others?" asked Jason. He showed his set of throwing knives. The weapons originally made of silvery steel and brown leather grip, were now made entirely of black tungsten metal, with glowing blue lines running along the edges of the blades.
