Life and it's surprises
See it change like the weather
Unpredictable and uncertain
Where the sun's rays touched
The earth with blazing heat
Hear the wind howling
As it turns
Relieving trees of their offspring with a breeze that gently
Drifts the leaves far away
Away they go to the end of the earth
Where land meets the waters
So the sea becomes an ocean
Where it's crystal clear watery surface
Sparkling like diamonds in the sun
Will turn black as the night
Swelling and rising with angered
Waves
Rounding up an infinite whirlpool
To drown what sailed in peace.
People and life's surprises
See them startled like an Impala
Caught in headlights
Out of it's own habitat surrounded
In alien confusion
Fleeing to seek refuge in the familiar
Like a chameleon in camouflage
Invisible for defense
Or creepy stalker biding and counting
Watch them adapt to a new way of life
Like a lion growing out of it's mother's bossom
No longer a cub now seeking a pride
Watch him challenge the alpha for the honour
Like an eagle seeking out its prey
From high up with it's faultless eye
Piloting it's titanium wings
Landing in an instant
Claws out and sharp like knives
Coming in for the kill.
Life when it is constant
See it's magnificence
Like the stars that paint the dark
Canvas up above
Colour it white
Colour it red
Colour it blue
Colour it in colours of jewels
The Black void filled with galaxies
Of unending blazing stones
That appear as thousand lights
In the dark heavens
Feel the earth move around
The burning star in predicament
Safe and secure among
Other planets doing likewise
Creating life
Preserving what is alive
Ending what no longer serves a purpose
All is great yet so small
Whatever the cause
Life dictates.
