"Ummu it's the weekend today, you promised me that you would tag along with me to the mall. Don't you remember?"

"Maaa? Moooom? I know you can hear me. Don't forget that you gave me your word!?"

Nope, there was absolutely no response. That was when the shiver went down Inaya's spine. She started panicking, since she was the one who was speaking so far and there was no response coming from her mum's side.

Fathima was doing her laundry and Inaya was in the kitchen sauteing the vegetables. She has been speaking alone ever since she realised that there was no reply from the other side.

Her heart throbbed a lil faster and she quickly ran to check on her mum. When she opened the laundry room's door, she saw her mum lying unconsciously in the floor. Her heart stopped beating for a second.

She was lying in the same postion that Saad was lying back then. She felt traumatised for a moment as tears started escaping from her eyes before she could understand that she started crying.

It was stupid of her. She knew it was stupid of her to check her own mum's pulse, but fear let her do that. She again heard the inner voice, telling her to check her mum's pulse. She did. Like it clearly asked her to do.

Lubb...lubb...lubbbb. she can hear it. But no. It didn't soothe her heart. She was still doubtful of that. Once again her voice asked her to move her hand close to her nose. To check if she was breathing. She did. Again. It was almost like she was being hypnotised by that voice. She took her hand and held it near her mum's nose.

Yes! She was breathing. She knew she was breathing. She have to go call the ambulance or call her dad and inform him about this. But she didn't know what to do. She became numb. She didn't know what exactly she had to do at this moment.

She heard the voice again, now the voice started to  tell her that she was the reason that her mum is lying unconscious. She was weeping. Perhaps weeping would be an understatement. She ignored the voice inside her. No it's not the time to think about that, she thought. She had to dial her dad and tell him to come check on her mum. Before that she had to call for an ambulance. She took her phone and dialed and after a while, she heard the sound of the siren.

                    At the hospital

She sat in one corner unaware of what the problem was. She sat there feeling nauseous of this whole environment. Four years ago, it was exactly at this hospital that Saad had died. She felt tremor inside her head. Her head, it felt heavy. Heavy from all the thoughts that once ruled on her head. As she was sobbing silently, she heard her phone ring.

"Where are you? Which ward is it?" She can hear Syed Hashim speak. But she was unable to speak to him. At this moment words didn't seem to come out of her mouth. It was as if, her mouth had locked itself. She felt hard to even open her mouth.

"Don't worry, I am here. Don't panic! Fathima would be alright!"

But she dint tell anything to him, all he can hear was her sniffing silently.

She can hear her dad asking the nurse about Fathima.

"Don't hang up! I am on my way. The ward number is 203 right? Hang in there. I am coming"

Syed Hashim was tensed horribly. He had to end his meeting abruptly since he got a call from Inaya. Inaya didn't speak anything. All she said was, 'Ummu...she..she..is in ....hospital'. He tried asking her what had happened. But there seem to be no response from her side. He knew, which hospital she would have gone. There was only one hospital which was near their home. It was the same hospital that Saad had gone. It was there that Saad had died.
