EMBER'S LIFE

In shadows cast by flickering light,
A matchstick burns through endless night.
Its flame, a whisper soft and small,
Yet yearns to rise, to break the thrall.

Oh, burning heart, you draw me near,
But ash and smoke will veil my fear.
For as you glow, my body's plight,
A single breath snuffs out the light.

A single breath brings forth the gloom,
A gust that seals the matchstick's doom.
It flickers, falters, starts to weep,
For flames of passion cannot keep.

In fierce embrace, we once were one,
But fate would steal the warmth, the fun.
Now as I wane, I feel the knife,
The tragic end of fire's life.

Eternal love, with the power to burn,
Yet bound to ash, the heart must learn.
For in the dance of flame and light,
There lies a truth, both harsh and bright.

Over time, she learned the bitter truth of her existence: she is destined to burn brightly but briefly. She realizes the power of eternal love is beyond her reach and seeks wisdom to embrace her destiny.
