SLAM!

Bandit: "GO TO HELL, YOU CHEATING BITCH!"

Chilli: "FUCK YOU, BANDIT! YOU'RE REALLY GONNA TRUST A WOMAN YOU BARELY EVEN KNOW?"

Bandit: "SHE HAD PROOF, CHILI! SHE HAD FUCKING PROOF!"

Chilli: "If you're going to believe this ridiculous lie, then I don't see a future with you anymore, Bandit."

Chilli turned away, her voice cold, and began walking off as Bandit continued screaming at her through the rain.

Bandit: "YEAH, WALK AWAY! DON'T COME BACK, YOU CHEATING BITCH!"

Ignoring his words, Chilli trudged through the rain, her fur soaked by both the storm and her tears. As she reached the edge of town, her ears perked up at the faint sound of an infant crying. She froze in her tracks, eyes darting toward a dimly lit alleyway.

Chilli: "Is that a baby?" she whispered to herself.

She cautiously moved deeper into the alley until she found a small, tattered box. Inside was a tiny, brown-skinned human baby, shivering and wet from the rain.

Chilli: "Oh my God... you poor thing."

She gently scooped him up, cradling him close to her chest in an attempt to warm him. The child quieted down, opening his eyes for the first time and gazing up at her. He let out a soft giggle, causing Chilli's heart to melt.

Chilli: "How could someone abandon you like this?"

Clutching the baby tightly, Chilli walked through the pouring rain, her thoughts swirling as she made her way to her mother's house a few blocks away. After twenty minutes of walking, she finally knocked on the door. Moments later,

Rosie: "I swear, who comes knocking at this hour-Oh! Chilli, honey, what on earth are you doing out here in the cold and rain? And where's Bandit? You know what, never mind, it doesn't matter. Come inside before you catch a cold."

Chilli entered her mother's house, her clothes soaked, and sat down on the couch. Rosie joined her, immediately noticing her daughter's bloodshot eyes.

Rosie: "Chilli, sweetheart, what happened? And what-"

Rosie stopped mid-sentence when a soft yawn came from Chilli's arms. She looked down and saw the small, brown baby.

Rosie: "Chilli... where did you find that baby? What's going on?"

Chilli began to cry again, tears spilling down her cheeks as she told her mother everything that had happened earlier. Rosie listened in stunned silence, hugging her daughter tightly after she finished recounting the story.

Rosie: "I'm so sorry, honey, for everything that happened today..."

Chilli sniffed and shook her head. "No, Mom, it's not your fault. You don't need to apologize for my crappy day. I'll be fine." She tried to smile but struggled.

Rosie: "And I know you'll be fine, because you're going to stay with me from now on."

Chilli: "Thanks, Mom... I thought I didn't have anywhere to go."

Rosie: "Of course, sweetheart. What kind of mother would I be if I left you out in the cold with a baby? Speaking of the baby, what are you going to do with him?"

Chilli sat quietly for a moment, staring at the baby boy in her arms. After a long pause, she finally spoke.

Chilli: "I'm going to make him my son. When I found him, I felt an instant connection. It's like I was meant to be his mother."

She gently touched the baby's face before glancing up at her mother, who sighed softly.

Rosie: "Well, alright. I can see you already love him, and it looks like he loves you too. I don't have any problem with you keeping him. I've been waiting to have a grandchild to spoil anyway!"

They both laughed for a moment before the baby started to cry again.

Rosie: "Oh dear, looks like someone's hungry."

Chilli: "Damn it, and all the stores are closed. I can't breastfeed him since I'm not pregnant..."

As Chilli was thinking of what to do, Rosie gently took the baby from her arms. Chilli looked over and was surprised to see her mother preparing to breastfeed the child.

Chilli: "Mom, how can you do that? You're not pregnant."

Rosie: "Oh, heavens no. I'm on some medication my doctor prescribed, and one of the side effects is milk production. Even though I'm not pregnant, I can still produce milk."

Chilli: "Is that... a good thing?"

Rosie: "Well, normally I use the milk for cooking or drinking, but if I don't use it, it just leaks everywhere and makes a mess."

Chilli: "I've heard that happens. Looks like the little guy's enjoying it though."

Rosie: "'Enjoying it'? He's sucking me dry already!" she chuckled. "But he'll be done soon enough. Have you thought of a name for him yet? We can't just keep calling him 'the boy.'"

Chilli sat in thought for a moment, looking down at the baby, still nursing.

Chilli: "How about... Yn?"

Rosie: "Yn? Hmm... I like it. A good name for my handsome grandbaby."

They both smiled as they looked down at Yn, who had finished feeding and let out a small yawn.

Chilli: "Looks like he had a little too much to eat."

They laughed as Rosie began to burp the baby.

Rosie: "You're going to be a wonderful mother, Chili. You know that, right?"

Chilli: "You think so?"

Rosie: "I know so."

As they gazed down at the now-sleeping Yn, both women smiled, knowing that this was the start of a new chapter in their lives. Little did they know, this baby would soon become a much bigger part of their future than they could ever imagine.
