Three Months Later

After six long months of court proceedings for her divorce, Chilli was finally preparing for the last day. She was about to be free from her marriage to Bandit. Though relieved, there was a deep sadness in her as she remembered the good times they once shared. She quickly pushed those thoughts aside. She had to focus on today.

Before she could leave, there was one last thing to do. She had to change her last name back to Cattle and also change Yn's last name to hers, now that her divorce was almost final.

Chilli: "Alright, buddy, time to go, alright?"

Yn just smiled at her, though he didn't fully understand what she was saying.

Chilli: "I'll take that as a yes, but we have to lock up the house since Rosie and Calypso are out shopping. The house will be empty all day."

She secured the house and then carried Yn outside, carefully placing him in his car seat before driving to the courthouse. The drive was a short ten minutes. After parking, she took Yn out of the car and walked nervously toward the courthouse.

Inside, Bandit was already sitting with the judge, talking. He stopped when he saw Chilli walk in, a disgusted look crossing his face. However, that look quickly shifted to confusion when he saw the baby she was holding.

Judge Macbeth: "Ah, Miss Chilli, you're just in time. Please, have a seat. I see you brought little Yn with you."

Chilli chuckled lightly, sitting as far away from Bandit as possible.

Chilli: "Yeah, I had to bring him with me. I have to change our last names today, so why not do it all at once?"

Judge Macbeth: "I see. Well, let's get this done. The faster we finish, the faster you're both free."

They spent the next hour with the judge, going over the final details.

Judge Macbeth: "Alright, regarding the house you two shared-who's keeping it or selling it?"

Before Bandit could speak, Chilli answered.

Chilli: "He's keeping the house. I don't need it anymore."

Judge Macbeth nodded and continued.

Judge Macbeth: "It seems your finances have always been separate, so we don't need to address that. The only thing left is for you to collect your personal belongings from the home. After that, we can sign these papers, and everything will be official."

The judge pushed a piece of paper toward them. Bandit quickly signed it and handed it back. Then it was Chilli's turn. She signed without hesitation and handed the paper back to the judge. He reviewed it for a moment before adding his signature, then put his pen down.

Judge Macbeth: "Alright, it's official. You two are now divorced. You may go on with your day, and it's nice to meet you, Yn."

Chilli nodded, quickly standing and walking out of the office with Yn, who had fallen asleep during the meeting. However, as she reached the door, Bandit grabbed her arm from behind.

Bandit: "Chilli, wait!"

Without thinking, Chilli spun around and slapped him across the face. The sound of the slap echoed through the courthouse lobby, drawing the attention of everyone nearby. Yn, now awake, looked up at his mother in confusion.

Chilli: "Don't you ever touch me again, you bastard."

Bandit sneered.

Bandit: "You hit like a bitch. But now you're just a human's bitch, aren't you? You brought that human filth into this world."
