When I was young, I heard a story about a little girl with golden locks of hair. She invaded the indigenous habitat of three bears. She plundered their food supply, destroyed their furniture, and took up squatting rights in the youngest bear's bedroom, before fleeing in terror.
You may have heard this children's story told with a little more whimsy. My retelling may sound a bit darker and more brooding. But let's be honest, isn't that how it went down? Details get rearranged, but the story remains. Imagine that you encountered this same story in China, India, the Brazilian Rainforest, Northern Europe, throughout the African continent, and even in the islands of the Pacific. Wouldn't you be curious how the same stories got transmitted to all these different locations without the benefit of modern communication methods?
Something similar has occurred in our world. What is more disturbing is; like Goldie Locks, there is physical evidence connected to such tales around the world. Taken individually such stories amount to nothing more than mythology. However, when these stories are examined side by side with other so called myths a common theme often emerges. Perhaps I can summarize this mythological pattern with the following poem:
There was a day, so long ago,
Long before the world we know,
There was a time before the sea,
There was a water canopy,Every story sounds the same,
Each story tells a different name,
A cataclysm comes from above,
From some tales, there is a dove,The waters fall, the waters rise,
Yes, in the Fall, the dead arise,
This tale is as old as time,
It tells of an unearthly crime,Three details all remain the same,
Water, Serpent, and Giants came,One story even gives a date,
On the seventeenth, it wasn't late,
In the second month it all began,
The waters fell, the people ran,It is remembered around the world,
A gliding serpent, to the earth was hurled,
The people married, drank, and ate,
To quote the Raven: "It won't be late!"Some were warned, They built a chest,
Some were saved, Eight souls were blessed,An ark, a barge, a boat, a box,
Animals were housed, without need of locks,Memory is a fickle thing,
Languages may change,
But the echoes remain,So as you celebrate your mid-fall season,
Consider, your feast may have another reason,
Megalithic structures still remain,
Many cultures recognize Samhain,Different words, in different ways,
Just as it was in former days,
Before the flood the world was in disarray,
Climate change threatens all of us today,Atlantis, was it just a myth?
Or does it explain the megalith?
I hope I told this story well,
When hubris reigned, and waters fell. There simply isn't enough time to break down every particular retelling of an ancient culture that some historians believe may predate the ice age. This notion flies in the face of the standard world view regarding the steady development of human societies.
If some ancient global civilization did predate our modern era, then what evidence exists to support such a notion? The answer lies in the megalithic structures found around the earth. Some are buried under water. Others like the images on Easter Island are buried under soil. Once again, when examined separately local legends of larger than life beings, global catastrophes, and a mysterious winged serpent seem preposterous to even consider as factual. Yet, the question remains: How can so many cultures be telling such eerily similar accounts?
The megalithic structures that modern experts claim could not have been built with either ancient technology, nor current methods presents a Goldie Locks dilemma. The evidence shows that someone has been building on our planet. Who these unknown architects are remains a mystery.
Why should this concern us? We have more important things to worry about. We are living in a time of climate upheaval. Why should buried stones in the Caribbean, or human size ant colonies in Turkey, or pyramid like structures around the world concern us? To be blunt: Because, these tales from antiquity often come with a warning. Atlantis is a popular topic in our modern pop culture reference world.
If there are indeed structures older than the Amazon Rainforest, then dramatic climate change has occurred before. It has long been assumed that such changes were the result of natural cycles, but the myths of these indigenous cultures tell a different story. What if humans or someone else actually was to blame somehow? That would mean, all this has happened before. It would also indicate that something like it could happen again under the right circumstances.
You may or may not have noticed what chapter number we are currently on in this book. This is chapter four. You might have noticed that after our introduction we started out on chapter twenty. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to notice that we have been in a count down sequence.
I'm only bringing this up now, because we only have three chapters and a conclusion to go. I don't bring up these details, nor the count down of this book to cause alarm. Rather, I point this out because when you realize a danger is real, you still need time for your brain to process the situation. You have come this far. Please don't stop reading now. I promised you a book for all people, from all backgrounds. Well, you will soon discover how I intend to make good on my promise.
Some of what you are reading may sound insane, or conspiratorial. Let me assure you, this is not about ancient aliens, but if you believe in that narrative, still keep reading. There is something here for that audience as well.
So, if you are ready, the count down continues on the next page. Could it be that we have missed something crucial in our exploration of the memory of mankind? The next chapter will analyze a topic that is peppered throughout the accepted biblical canon. Like the disjointed global mythologies, there is a recurring story found throughout the sacred texts of Judaism, Christianity, and even Islam, that reveals we may have overlooked something huge. Perhaps, it was bias. Some might claim ignorance. Prejudice is certainly at the root of it. I would argue: All of the above. But I'll let you decide for yourself as you turn the page. Our next stop is the Horn of Africa.
