For the first time in a long time, Jennie felt how deafening silence can be. It seemed that all the outside noise that had surrounded her in recent weeks had eventually deafened her. There is only a ringing in her ears, and the thoughts in her head are getting louder. A lump of resentment and anger vividly rolls up somewhere in her chest and throat, making her eyes tingle with approaching tears.

It's about four in the morning, but Jennie hasn't even gone to bed, despite the fact that she will have to go to the office soon. She didn't feel like sleeping tonight. All night and for the hundredth time, she looks at a photo sent to her by a friend, which shows her girlfriend kissing some girl.

Jennie has little idea what her reaction to this should have been. She doesn't want to die of pain, she doesn't want to drink herself into unconsciousness, but she really wants to tell everything to go to hell.

She lazily walks into the kitchen, combined with the living room, and casually throws the phone on the counter, turns on the kettle. Jennie seems lost in her own thoughts again, scrolling through all the memories with the girl, followed by an internal monologue about how she will discuss all this with her. But there is only one end.

The girl is pulled out of her thoughts by the quiet click of the kettle. Tucking a brown strand behind her ear, Jennie pours two spoonfuls of black ground coffee with a slide and pours half of it with water, because now she doesn't care if this coffee is delicious or not. Now she needs a dose of caffeine to have enough strength to get to the office and survive another day of chaos that is happening at work.

Jennie picks up the steaming cup and heads out onto the balcony. The frosty October air instantly makes the body shudder, but the girl realizes that she seems to need this cold to cool the heat inside. She sits down on a chair and leans back, clutching the cup to her.

Now she wants to enjoy at least a little bit of sleeping Toronto, which is slowly starting to wake up. The girl watches the "CN Tower" glowing in the distance, and then turns her gaze to the sky. The weather promises to be sunny today. Jennie smiles, catching herself thinking that usually, by a combination of inexplicable circumstances, when the soul is shitty, then the weather becomes shitty.

She closes her eyes and noisily inhales the frosty air, allowing it to penetrate into the lungs and calm down. Exhale and inhale again, and it seems to help slow down the inner anxiety that just snowballs over her. In the last few weeks, it can be very difficult to get rid of this feeling, especially when Jennie is left alone with herself, and now Irene, who, being thousands of kilometers away in Paris, decided to have fun with someone, thereby throwing up another problem, which, by the way, Jennie doesn't need at all.

Jennie and Irene's relationship has never been really serious. They didn't swear their love to each other. Their relationship was based on mutual attraction and passion from the very beginning. They were comfortable in such a relationship. No emotional stress, no drama and no jealousy. There was only one rule – not to sleep with others. Anyway, they were a couple who even went to the movies or restaurants sometimes, when, of course, they didn't have sex all night long. It was a comfortable relationship for people whose jobs and careers came first. Jennie devoted herself entirely to design, and Irene sank deeper into the fashion industry, signing contracts with major brands and leaving Canada for Europe more and more often. Despite the fact that Irene came to Toronto quite often, this did not prevent her from breaking the main rule in the end.

Jennie is so uncomfortable with this thought that she involuntarily winces when a photo from her phone flickers for a second in front of her eyes, where an almost ex-girlfriend is kissing a stranger. Of course, Jennie doesn't know if Irene ended up sleeping with another girl or not. She would find out later, but what she saw was already enough. After all, everyone has their limit, and for Jennie it has come.
