-Something serious?- Jennie wondered, entering the office after the director.

She keeps in her head the moment when Rose was quite seriously discussing something with Seokjin, and it alarms her a little. Various thoughts are randomly popping into her head as to why the blonde wants to talk to her, and one of the silliest is that Jennie might get fired. The most illogical version, of course, but I guess that's the kind of question that matures the best experts, too. You kind of realize that you're a great employee and you can't get fired, but then you think, but maybe they can? Maybe they found a better person? Yes, it's definitely a stupid assumption, but Jennie clarifies just in case:

-You don't want to fire me, do you?- Kim said uncertainly, biting her lip slightly and glancing anxiously at Rose, who was sitting down at the table.

Rose, however, raises her eyebrows in surprise, and after a second's confusion, suddenly starts laughing, spinning her head around.

-What?- The blonde clarified through a slight laugh, gesturing to the chair next to Jennie to sit across from her. - No, of course not, God!

-You should have been more specific, or that kind of talk scares me.- Jennie shrugged with a smile and sat down in the chair across from the director.

-I'm sorry.- Rose shook her head, folding her hands on the table.- It's just that there's so much going on right now and my head is spinning.

The girl's voice has gotten softer, but there's still that warm smile on her lips that shows that everything is fine and nothing bad is going to happen, and Jennie relaxes, leaning back in her chair.

-I understand.- Kim replies, folding her arms across her chest, waiting for her boss to move on to the purpose of this conversation.

-I wanted you to tell me which of your guys could, for example, take over the department? Who, in your opinion, is a very strong specialist and can support teamwork.

-Look.- Rose said, looking into Jennie's eyes a little more seriously.- I wanted you to tell me which of your guys could, for example, take over the department? Who, in your opinion, is a very strong specialist and can support teamwork.

Kim frowns, not quite understanding the question. Her mind immediately starts spinning with thoughts of which sub-department needs a replacement? And then images of Nayeon, Alex, Chan flicker in her mind. The first people a girl thinks of as the best.

Rose notices Jennie's confusion and how she still stares into the blonde's eyes in the same suspended state, but seems to be lost in her own thoughts, not noticing that she's been silent a little longer than she should.

-I'll ask the question in another way.- Rose said, raising her palm, and then with a smile continues:- Purely hypothetically, if you had to choose in your place the best specialist who could cope with the load, who would it be?

Jennie suddenly focuses her gaze on the eyes opposite, which are scrutinizing the girl intently. A wry smile appears on her lips.

-Purely hypothetically?- Jennie clarifies.

Rose covers her eyes for a second, nodding approvingly, and then returns her gaze to Jennie's suspicious stare again.

-Ahem...- She fidgeted in her chair, assuming a more tense position, straightening her back.-Nayeon, Alex, and Chan come immediately to my mind.

She voices the three names that have popped up for her since she heard the question and is really confident in her answer.

-I think Nayeon could take my place. Just hypothetically, if you want to fire me.- Kim chuckled, giving a more specific answer.- Alex is very good, too, but he's a little insecure. He feels like he can't run the department, but he's actually a great professional. He's very attentive and has a lot of experience. He just needs a little confidence. Chan is also a great designer, but he's more of a practitioner. He likes the design itself, not the designing, and she thinks it would be to his detriment to be in a position where you're stepping away from practice. I honestly don't know why he applied for the art director position, because I think he would have hated the job.
