Jennie didn't know how she should react to the message from Irene. She definitely didn't expect this and it took the girl by surprise. Kim probably opened a message from her ex a dozen times, periodically rereading it, and then closing the dialogue over and over again. To be honest, the message from her knocked Jennie out of her work rhythm a little and she is mentally glad that lunch has come and she, along with Lisa and Chahee, will be able to discuss this situation.

Now the three girls are all sitting at the counter in their cafe near the windows. Jennie is in the center and flanked by friends who are trying to give advice.

-Oh, my God.- Lisa was indignant, glancing at a pensive Jennie, then at the phone display her friend was holding, staring at a text message from her ex.- You're not gonna text her back, are you?

Jennie sighs, turning off her phone and resting it on the counter, and then covers her face with her palms. The girl doesn't know what to do at all. Kim realizes that even if she did break up with Irene, it's still like it's hanging in some kind of limbo. Like it's not over yet

-I don't know.- Kim shakes her head, tucking strands of hair behind her ears, then turns her attention to the windows, watching the bustling passersby.

Toronto is certainly not enjoying sunny weather today, but at least it's not raining. Just cloudy sky and slightly frosty air, indicating that snow is on the way. All the streets, establishments and houses are decorated for the upcoming Halloween and now the girls are sitting at their counter with a spider web hanging over their heads and the counter is littered with pumpkins and creepy faces carved into them.

Jennie turns her attention to her almost empty plate, which recently had cheesecake in it, and then turns her gaze to the almost empty coffee glass and realizes that she needs more coffee, because a slight uneasiness in her chest is starting to appear, and she doesn't understand whether it's from the caffeine or a message from her ex.

-Jennie, I think you should talk.- Chahee spoke up and noticed Lisa's shocked eyes, whose eyebrows were about to tangle in her own hair at the surprise and absurdity of her friend's advice.- You haven't fully discussed this and relationships don't break that easily.

-What do they need to discuss?! - Lisa intervenes, bending over the counter to look at Chahee. -Irene's a bitch. What? She realized her feelings for Jennie? Did she get a sudden jolt when she realized it was over? Okay, even if she did, what? She should forgive her and forget what happened then?

Jennie now feels like she's between two fires, and her head starts to split. She rolls her eyes and jumps down from the bar stool.

-Would you like anything? I'll take a coffee.- Jennie just asks, completely ignoring her friends' dialog about her personal life.

Chahee breaks off for a second and asks for cocoa, but Lisa refuses. Nodding, Kim goes to the cash register, now wanting not to listen to the chatter of her friends and their theories about how to act in such situations.

Jennie walks up to the counter and examines the drink menu as if seeing it for the first time. Her gaze blindly studies the menu board on the wall of the place, and she seems to fall unnoticed into thoughts of Irene. "Damn her," Jennie thinks to herself. She was just starting to come to her senses, trying to put her ex out of her mind completely, and just as she was beginning to succeed, Irene showed up.

The girl tucks her hands into her black hoodie without any prints and continues to examine the menu thoughtfully. She doesn't seem to be trying to decide on a drink at all. Should she even order an espresso, or better yet, a double espresso to make her heart fail? Or should she order cocoa or hot chocolate? It's pretty good here, thick and rich.
