Today was the day that I tried out for the elite warrior group. I felt nervous as I got myself dressed and went downstairs to grab an apple before I started warming up. I walked down the stairs in my training gear and entered the kitchen to grab an apple, Evan was in the kitchen already waiting for me.
'Good morning, Maddie, are you ready?' he asked.
' I feel a bit nervous this morning, i'm just going to grab an apple and warm up, so I'm ready.' I admitted walking towards the fruit bowl and grabbing an apple.
' I will accompany you on your warm-up, although I can not do more than that as I will also be judging the tryouts for positions within the elite warrior group.' Evan said as he also grabbed a piece of fruit and followed me outside. I ate my apple as we walked towards the training grounds and through the core into the Woods. I stretched out my legs and my arms and then started running laps around the training grounds as more and more people filled in to do the same.
' Welcome all, today are the tryouts, the elite warrior group. For those of you participating, please start an over with Evan. For those of you who are spectating, please stand behind me.' Dain spoken front of the group. ' You all will be assessed by both myself, evan, and Brody. Please split into three equal groups so that we can assess each of you better. There'll be three different areas you will be assessed, they will be. Fitness and endurance, fighting skills, and problem solving. The rest of the elite Warriors will be working on the problem solving part of the assessment alongside Brody. They will be setting up scenarios for you to solve. Evan will be doing the fitness and endurance part of the assessment, whereas I will be assessing your fighting skills.' Dain Contuniued.
We split into three equal groups in front of Dain. Evan walked over to my group and stood in front of us.
' You will be with me first. We will be testing your fitness and endurance. I have set up an obstacle course, which is 5 miles long, and I want you to do it in the fastest possible time you can. Please follow me.' he said, and we all followed behind him to the obstacle course he had already set up.
When we we reached the optical course, I could see that it was a run, with a climbing wall and lots of things to jump over. we all lined up at the start line, and Evan shouted to go. I started off running. I was in the middle of the group. It was a mile run, then came the climbing wall, to which I was up and over the quickest. We continued running to where the obstacles were. I dived over and under every obstacle. When we were in the home stretch of the run with one last obstacle to manoeuver, I was leading the group. I cleared the obstacle and upped my speed towards the finish line where Evan was waiting. As I cleared the finish line, I heard cheers from people on the sidelines, and I looked to see Evan smiling at me.
' Well done to all who have completed the obstacle course. However, this assessment is not over yet. I would now like you all to do 10 laps of the training grounds. Please bear reminds that our other assessments are going on, so please stay out of their way.' I looked over towards Evan, and he nodded at me, giving me the confidence I needed. I started the run and made sure that I was not at the back of the group. I would save my last boost of speed towards the end. I matched the speed of most of the running, and a few had already taken off in front. I stayed with the group for the first five miles, and then I upped my speed to catch up with the group that we're leading. I caught up quickly and overtook the group with the last mile to go they also up to their speed. I pushed to be in the lead as we drew closer to the finish line. I led the group with one member close behind me as we crossed the finish line.
' Well done, you have now completed the fitness and endurance section of the assessment. Please grab yourself a bottle of water off of the table to my left and rest whilst the other assessments finish.' Evan says congratulating each individual as they cross the line. I sat on the side with my bottle of water, Garrett came and sat next to me.
