Heart Of A Luna

Chapter 17

I sit in my room thinking about the Prophecy, running it over and over in my head. Feelings of disgust and dread run over me. That was a knock at my door.

' maddie, please come out.' Lily asks from behind the door.

'Maddie, you need to eat. You need something that's going to take your mind off of whatever is going on. Maddie, you can talk to me.'

' Go away, Lily, leave me alone.' I beg from the comfort of my bed.

' i'm not going to go away, Maddie. You're my friend. You're going through something, and I want to be there for you, i'm not going to abandon you like everyone else has.' I get up from my bed sill in my pyjamas, slowly walk over to the door, realizing that Lily is not going to go away anytime soon.

I open the door to see her standing there with a look of sympathy across her face. I stand away from the d, or opening up wi and er allowing her to enter my bedroom. Make my way back into bed and pull the covers right up to my c, in getting snuggly again.

' Maddie, what is going on?' Lily questions.

' I don't want to talk about it Lily, thank you for being here.' I replied.

' Maddie, I can't help you if I don't know what is going on, maybe there is something I can do.'

' There is nothing you can do, Lily, nothing.'

' I don't know if you don't tell me, come on man just tell me what's going on.' she asks, I sigh, knowing she's not going to give up.

' Lily, there is a prophecy about a beta's daughter from my old pack. In the Prophecy, the beta's daughter destroys the wolf race. The Prophecy is about me, I am the beta's daughter.' I whisper.

' Oh, Maddie, this doesn't mean that the prophecies about you. You have a sister, don't you? Couldn't it be that your sister is going to destroy the wolf race and not you?' Lily says, letting out a deep exhale.

' I mean, technically, yes. But she is well on her way to being successful, herself into something. last i saw her, she was going to be future Luna.'

' Well, if she's the future Luna, that means she would have the power to ruin her pack, the power to bring down the wolf race. She will have everything she needs. And I'm not saying that you have nothing, Maddie, you have everything you need right here. You have me. You have Dane. You have Amanda, and you have Evan. You need to make the decisions that will lead you down the right track. If you don't want to destroy the wolf race, that is perfectly fine. Make the decision to stay away from that destiny. Why don't we go and train, take your mind off every sign that is going on, and release your anger on the punching bags and maybe a few wolves.' she giggled the last part.

I begrudgingly pulled myself out of bed and changed into training gear that I had purchased on our latest shopping trip. We trudged down the stairs and out of the Pack house towards the training grounds.

At the training grounds, we bumped into Evan and Dain, who are hammering the punching bags with their fists.

' Maddie, Lily. What are you guys doing here?' Evan asked as Dain turned to face us. Dain smiled at me knowingly, like he knew exactly what was going through my head.

' Maddie, could I talk to you for a second?' Dain asked, pulling me to the side so we could talk in private.

' Are you ok? I haven't seen you since last night.'

' i'm okay Dain, it was just a lot to take in. I've been thinking about the Prophecy.' I replied.

' Well, Maddie, don't worry about prophecy. It is just some made-up bullshit that someone decided is  going to happen hundreds of years ago. I did some digging off my own on the Prophecy. You are not the only daughter of the Beta of black claw. This prophecy could also be about your sister. She is still in line to be Luna and is still dating your former mate. With her being Luna, you know she has everything at her fingertips that she would need to fulfil the Prophecy. So that doesn't mean that the Prophecy is solely about you. It could be about her.' Dain tried to reassure me.

I nodded, accepting what he had just said, and pulled myself together, wiping all emotion off of my face. I turned back towards Lily, and i'm focused on training.
