Chapter 13

' We will leave him in anticipation for a few hours until we come back, do you know what Liam is most scared of? We have a drug here that I think we will use next, and knowing what Liam is most scared of will help us.'

' His father I believe, but other than that he was scared of rogues, snakes and spiders. At least that's what he told me when we were friends.' I answered not really knowing.

' Ok, I will try to get in touch with his father and see if I can get him to come here and help us get information out of his son. I don't know who his father is but he will be easy to track down. If he is scared of his father then it is his father we will need to use the drug.' we walked back to the pack house and made lunch, after eating I went and had a shower and took a short nap. A few hours later there was a knock at my bedroom door, I opened it to find Dain standing there.

' I thought you would like to know, Liam's father will be here in the morning. It didn't take me long to track him down, he is gamma of his pack. He is eager to see his son, who apparently ran away after a disagreement. I have given him a brief summary of the situation, but not gone into too much detail as to why Liam is in the cells.'

' Okay, should we go visit him now and give him the good news? Or do you think a surprise is best?'

' I think we should go and see him, but not tell him about the surprise we have for the morning. We will need to brief Gamma Moore when he arrives.' I smiled nodding, we walked through the pack house and out the door and headed in the direction of the cells, when we entered we headed straight for Liam's cell. Opening the door and strolling in. Liam was still chained to the wall, more blood had streaked down his arms.

'Hello Liam, do you have anything to tell us?' Dain said cheerfully.

'Nothing worth mentioning.' Liam replied, exhaustion in his voice.

' Lie.' I barked, Liam hung his head knowing my answer to be true.

' If you say so Liam, no we will get the answers from you one way or another. I have a new toy I would like to test on you, this will be fun.' Liam looked up at Dain his face alarmed at his words. I turn to leave and Dain followed behind me exiting the room and closing the door behind us. We again walked down the hall and entered the door to the room filled with Windows. We walked up to the viewing point for Liam's cell and took a seat on the stools that we had left there a few hours earlier.

' Maddie, i'm going to let you choose the next method we use on Liam before his father gets here in the morning. Each button you see in front of you is a different method of getting information out of someone. Pick one you think will work.' Dain instructed as I looked at the buttons in front of me. There was a red one with a flame on it, that was pretty easy to guess what it did. It was fire. Another was white with a symbol which looks like wind on it, another was the one that Dain had pushed yesterday. It was blue and had waves on it. There were 14 buttons in total as I scanned over them trying to guess what each one did. My eyes landed on a purple button with the letter R on it.

' What does this one do?' I asked, fascinated by how modern the cells here were.

' Now that one, releases of rabbid animal into the cell. It would be a wolf.' explained and I pushed the button. The wall opened behind Liam and a huge black wolf with white foam coming out of its mouth entered the cell. It growled at Liam circling him. As the  wolf circled it lunged at Liam biting his leg. Liam screamed and the wolf lunged again biting Liam's arm. Again and again the wolf bit different parts of Liam's body. A few minutes later there was a noise from where the wolf had come from. The Wolf retreated back to its cage, with the Wolf Back where it belongs we entered Liam cell again. Blood dripping from the bites that the wolf had inflicted.

' Now Liam, I'm sure that you're aware that that wasn't just any wolf. That was a rogue that had gone rabid, and the virus is already coursing through your veins. Before long you will be the same. Now, do you have anything to say to us before we leave?' Dain asked his tone unbelievably calm and smooth.

' I have nothing to tell you, there is no cure for this you know that and I will die with what I know.' Liam's voice, full of emotion and defiance.

'No cure? There has been a cure for years, want it you will need to tell me what you know. I will then decide whether the information you give is worth the Cure or not.' Dain replied a smug look on his face, his hand slid into his trouser pocket and pulled out a Vial filled with orange liquid. Liam's eyes brightened, that he would live if he got that vile he reached for it and Dain poured it out the way.

' You know the information we want, give it to us and then you might just get the Vial.

' I can't, they will kill me.' Liam begged his eyes locked onto the Vial.

' Truth'

' And you don't think I won't kill you? I could just leave you to turn rabid and then put you out of your misery. I hear that turning rabid is an extremely painful process, I hope you are ready.'

' No I don't, I am a member of your pack. And I don't think that you would kill a member of your pack.' Liam answered certainty in his voice.

' both statements are true.' I looked to Dain and then back at Liam, confirming that both statements the men had made were true.

' I will leave you to ponder on that Liam, if you really believe I won't kill you, then we will see what you believe in the morning.' Dain said as he was walking to the door. I again followed heading for the door myself.

' Maddie! Maddie! Please don't let him kill me. Please don't let him let me go rabid. Give me the Cure.' Liam begged rattling his chains, causing more blood to ooze down his arms.

' the only way I can give you the Cure, is for you to tell us what you know Liam, you know that. Tell me what you know and I will give you the Vial, I will give you the Cure and you will live.' I turned back looking at Liam, his eyes pleaded with me. ' I would say you have about a week Liam until you are completely rabid, until You Forget Who You Are. You have until then to decide, but don't wait too long.' Dain's voice echoed as he walked out of the door and into the hall. I turned and headed out of Liam cell closing the door behind me and locking it. I walked back to the pack house with Dain, it was now 2 am and I could really do with some sleep. With Liam's father arriving in the morning, sleep was needed. Tomorrow was going to be another long day.
