Rivalry (Urahara x Reader)

Re-apperance

The conference room was filled with banter and serious talk, after the Captain Commander left , the room was nothing as serious as 10 minutes ago. Y/N and Yoruichi get more involved in their own conversations with other captains.

" Captain Yoruichi ! " A man in a black jumpsuit with the squad 2 emblem on his back beckons. Yoruichi excuses herself from a friendly talk with Ukitake. The man kneels Infront of yoruichi and whispers. Y/N glances over nothing that it was just some captain-subordinate interaction.

"Y/N!" Yoruichi called, her tone urgent. "I just got a tip from Omitsukidō about your squad."

Y/N's heart raced. "What did you hear? Are they okay?"

Yoruichi nodded, but her brow furrowed. "They were spotted in Rukongai. We need to go now."

Without hesitation, Y/N followed Yoruichi as they hurried through the hallways of Seireitei, urgency driving their every step. The closer they got to Rukongai, the more Y/N's worry amplified. Her mind raced with thoughts of what could have happened during the routine investigation. Had her squad run into trouble? Were they hurt?

As they exited into the bustling streets of Rukongai, the atmosphere was a stark contrast to her apprehension. People were milling about, completely unaware of the concerns that had gripped Y/N just moments ago. She scanned the area, searching for any signs of her squad.

"Over there!" Yoruichi suddenly pointed toward a small gathering of figures not far from a food stall. Y/N's heart sank as she recognized her squad members, all laughing and eating as if nothing had happened. Confusion washed over her.

"Guys!" Y/N called, her voice laced with both relief and exasperation as she rushed toward them. "Where did you go? You guys disappeared for 20 hours !"

The squad members turned, surprise etched across their faces. One of them, a tall man with spiky hair, Kanata, grinned at her. "Hey, Captain! What's with the serious look?"

"Did something happen?" another member chimed in, their brows furrowing in concern.

Y/N felt a rush of frustration. "Where have you been!"

"We were just investigating the abnormal hollows following their appearance according to your instruction," the Kanata said, a hint of confusion in his tone. " In the end it was too late. They disappeared."

"What?"

Y/N muttered to herself. 

"I had never sent you to investigate it !" Y/N said in frustration.

"Captain did all the work skipping get to your head ? It was on the missions board the other day at our barracks, with your signature and the Squad's Insignia." Kanata chuckled.

Y/N's pulse quickened, her thoughts racing. "That's impossible," she muttered, shaking her head. "I never authorized any mission." She looked at her squad members, who appeared genuinely confused, as if they had no idea about the implications of what they were saying.

The Kanata scratched his head, his brow furrowed. "Captain, I swear, the orders were posted in the barracks like usual. We saw it yesterday morning, plain as day."

Yoruichi crossed her arms, her gaze shifting between Y/N and her squad. "Something's definitely off here," she said quietly, her voice low enough for only Y/N to hear. "That kind of mistake doesn't happen, especially with you."

Y/N's mind whirled with possibilities. How could orders have been posted under her name without her knowledge? What purpose was it to send squad members on that mission? 

"I want all of you to come with me to Squad 4 immediately," Y/N finally ordered, her tone sharper than usual. "You've been missing for 20 hours, and we need to make sure you're alright."
