••••JOES POV••••
It was over.
The words repeated over and over in my head while a smile wouldn't leave my face. The entire situation was crazy: us finally coming out to the public. Its much harder than it seems; you can't force someone to make their relationship open. They need to be comfortable doing it on their own.
I was finally comfortable. I never thought I would do it. And neither did Caspar, but here we are, laying side by side on the bed, not moving or speaking until I got bored of staring at the plain white ceiling and turned my head to look at my boyfriend.
After I turned, a piece of the front of my hair fell into my face, blocking me from meeting Caspar's gaze that was already on me. I tried to look cool and move the hair out of my face without using my hands by just swaying my head quickly to one side, but that made more of my long brown hair block my vision. Dissapointment was clearly evident on all my features as Caspar then laughed, propped himself up on his elbow, and used his hand to fix it for me. He ran his fingers gently through my hair then laid back down, still holding eye contact with me.
"Thank you." I whispered to him. He simply nodded in response.
I was enjoying the silence that surrounded us for another few seconds until it was broken again, this time by Caspar's low voice.
"I was so nervous."
My eyes widened and I let out a hint of a laugh.
"You were nervous? I think my hands were actually shaking during that video from nerves!"
Caspar laughed. "I didn't even notice. Actually, I didn't even know that you were nervous. I was too wrapped up in my own concerns." He gave me a smile. "Its good to know that I wasn't being ridiculous."
"You weren't, don't worry. I thought you were so confident and ready; looks like all those acting lessons you took before your role in Spud really paid off." I teased him by giving him a wink and he pushed me over.
"I'm so good at acting." He dragged out the second word with sarcasm. I laughed. He continued. "But it is finally over."
"I was just thinking that." There have been plenty of times where I thought Caspar could read my mind because we thought so alike.
"My god could we be any cheesier?" He asked, shaking his head.
"No, I don't think so."
"Is that a bad thing?"
I thought for a second then answered honestly. "Never."
Nothing but silence was once again heard and then a thought came to my mind. Before I could think that this would ruin our moment, I blurted it out.
"Want to go play FIFA?"
Caspar looked at me and raised an eyebrow, then burst out laughing.
"What kind of question is that? Obviously I want to play FIFA!" He stood up and offered me a hand, which I then used to make myself sit up and out of my comfortable position. Before he left the room, I caught his attention.
"Casp?"
He turned back around under the doorway. "Yeah?"
"Thank you for today, for being there and being brave for me."
His cheeks turned a bright pink shade of pink once he took the compliment. "I'll always be there for you. Thank you for the same thing."
I smiled back and was about to comment on our cheesiness again, but he interrupted me.
"And thank you for being so bad at FIFA. I'm looking forward to beating you. Again."
I hit him on the shoulder once I made my way over to him. "Shut up."
We both ran up the stairs ready to have some fun and forget about all the nerves that were, surprisingly, eating us both alive just a few hours ago.
I was, however, nervous that he was going to beat me in FIFA.
