•••• BRETTS POV••••
I had just finished helping a costumer purchase a new phone, and looked at the clock.
Only 10 more minutes until I'm out.
The store closes 10 minutes earlier on Sundays than it does on the other days of the week, so I had a free evening.
Then I turned my head to face the doors, and saw the tall boy I had seen many times before, standing at the entrance.
Why was he here?
I didn't mind the slightest bit. Now, maybe I could get some more information on Jaspar. They might have broken up because I didn't see Joe with him.
Perfect.
He moved closer to me, and my jaw
dropped as I remembered that he was probably here to talk to me about our kiss. I was nervous, was he going to yell at me? What was he going to say?"Caspar?" I finally said, after moments is us staring at each other.
"Brett, we need to talk." Was all he whispered out in an upset tone. I motioned him closer to we were standing face-to-face over the counter. His eyes were focused on me with an unreadable expression, as if he was waiting for me to say something first.
"Caspar I'm really sorry about what happened at Nandos. I shouldn't have done something like that."
I'm not sorry. I am so glad I did it. My plan was going perfectly.
His unreadable expression changed into a small smile, where the sides of his lips curled upwards but his eyes were still and expressionless.
"I'm sorry I acted the way I did. It wasn't your fault, it's the hackers. They changed so much between me and Joe, and I don't think things will go back to how they were before."
They broke up. Is that what Caspar is talking about?
"If you don't mind me asking, did you and Joe break up?"
Caspar kept his stare on me as his eyes filled with tears. Slowly, his head shook up and down twice, then he moved his gaze to the floor.
I've done it. They broke up. Caspar's mine. I just need to be careful from here on out, and everything will go according to plan.
"Caspar I'm really sorry. I feel so bad for everything."
I'm not sorry. I am so proud of myself.
"It's ok, it's not your fault, but I need to find out who it is. That's why I've come to you again." He paused. "I guess what I'm saying is I'm desperate, Brett. I need Joe back. I'm giving you a second chance."
I looked at the clock while he was talking, and I saw that it was time to close up the shop.
"Caspar I'm off of work now. Let's go talk somewhere else."
He nodded and put on a serious face. Then he spoke again after thinking.
"Come to my flat. Joe's not home. We can talk there and go in Twitter and try to figure out who the hacker is, because I know you are good with computers."
I was shocked. Even after I kissed him, he is inviting me to his apartment where it is going to be just the two of us.
This is too easy.
"So we are alright?" I needed to confirm so that I could continue my plan of getting with Caspar without being mad at me and making things ten times harder.
"Yeah. Let's forget everything. We have bigger problems, and I trust you to help me. I just want everything to be back to how it was a week ago. When I loved Joe and Joe loved me."
He paused, and I saw his eyes fill up with tears again. He pressed his lips together hard, and blinked a few times, and talked again.
"Actually, all that's different is Joe doesn't love me. Everything else is still the same as last week besides that."
Caspar still loves Joe. That will change shortly.
"You still--"
He cut me off with a slight hum.
"Mm-hmm"
We just stared at each other for a second before I grabbed my computer, walked around the counter then to the glass doors. I took the key out of my pocket and stepped out of the store, with Caspar following me a few steps behind. When he stepped out into the concrete on the opposite side of the doors, I locked it, then faced him.
"You want to make everything right?" I asked him with a smirk.
"Yeah I really do. Thanks for doing this with me and helping me. I totally owe you one, mate."
"Don't worry about it. Let's go."
Let's go make things right. My way.
